Flip-check 6 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 I turned it on with Sopcast between periods. But I didn't catch much really. It did make me wish I knew French though!
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 I really like this Mark Stuart kid. He kicked the s*** out of Kostisyn, and then beat up Kostopulous. Zdeno Chara is a goon

Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 Montreal is definitely going to be on the hunt for an enforcer after this. Unless they find somebody in the mean time, if we put Downey on waivers next month, he may be going back to the Canadians.

Remember the people posting here about a month ago, talking about how we should bring Dandenault back because of his size and grit?
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 Kostopulos is Montreal's "enforcer"

Unless they find somebody in the mean time, if we put Downey on waivers next month, he may be going back to the Canadians. The Habs already have Kostopoulos and Komisarek, who are both capable of fighting. Since they are already at a premium for roster space now, I doubt they bring Downey back. Plus, last week they just let Garth Murry go on waivers. I rate Murray higher than Downey, just because Murray has some scoring skill, while Downey doesn't. I don't think they have any intentions of havinga an enforcer since they just let that happen. But... it is a possibility. I just wish Babcock would quit being an ******* and play Downey for once, just so he get's a few more games in this season.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 Hank should love the amount of goals in this game. The League needs more games like this.

Garth Murray really isnt much better than Kostopulous though fighting wise. He's not a heavy, so i could see why they didnt feel there was a spot for him. Downey on the other hand, while by no means a great heavy, is at least one and is a much better fighter than Kostopulous. Games like this where your team gets beat up (at the hands of a rival no less)have a tendency of making teams want to get tougher, its a situation where they may decide to grab Downey for the hell of it if he's made available again. Maybe they'll think he's learned a few things playing here. At least we have a few more weeks before the Wings will do it again... They don't need one, because they have Dandenault. Remember the people posting here about a month ago, talking about how we should bring Dandenault back because of his size and grit? aaaah yes the grit of Dandenault! Can you imagine the sheer ferocity if him and Lilja paired together?
