NHL Network now on Comcast!

In order to get NHL Network here (Royal Oak for me) you have to add the Sports Entertainment Package, which is about $5/month. Well worth it, IMO.

I was pretty disappointed when Comcast moved the NFL Network over to the Sports Package but I've got both back now. Only reason I was holding out was because of the delay in getting the NHL Network picked up.

I had the "To Be Announced" guide pop-up on my box as well, but the channel worked (the Rochester Americans and Lake Erie Monsters were playing.)

Great. Channel 276 is a digital cable channel...I don't have digital cable, nor can I afford it.

I am really starting to hate Comcast...they are taking more channels away from basic cable and making them digital-only. They've already taken SoapNet, the Game Show Network and ESPN Classic away from basic and made it digital. Now it seems any new channels are going straight to the digital package.

They have to realize some people don't want or can't afford digital...at least make it part of an optional package basic cable subscribers can add on to their service for an extra fee, like an HBO or something.

I hate Comcast! I actually have the opposite problem. In my area, Comcast is the only provider and they "only offer digital". Except the only thing that makes it digital is the cable box. They are really not charging you for anything to have the digital package. I have 3 TVs, two with boxes one without. The TV without receives the same channels, except you don't get the guide or the ability to order ON DEMAND or the premium movie channels, that's it. Those schemeing schmucks told me that I had to have digital service but any TV without a box received "basic" cable. Sooooooooo... why do I have to pay for digital service if I don't NEED digital service?

Today is a great day!!!! I just ordered my sports package around 11 am and went home for lunch to enjoy some Rochester vs. Lake Erie AHL action! It was only $2.99 a month for 12 months, and I get NFL, NBA and of course NHL Network. This is tightness.

My wife on the other hand....is going to kill me.

My menu is working now (rather than it saying "to be announced"), and it says NHL TV now rather than being blank...so they mustve just started it today. We have no special sports package yet i have the NFL network as well. Hey, no complaints here!!!

I now have NHLTV on my on-screen t.v. guide but it looks like I have to order the sports package.

I don't believe WOW will be carrying the NHL channel. I believe that's why they dropped Centre Ice this year (and why I switched from WOW to Comcast). If I remember correct, the NHL would not give the Centre Ice package to WOW because they refused to carry the channel.
