Some surprises per David Amber at ESPN.

Six European-born players, three Canadian and one American. Is this indicative of the way players are trained at a young age or just a coincidence?

10. Ales Hemsky, Edmonton (10 goals, 27 attempts) .370

9. Brian Gionta, New Jersey Devils (11 goals, 24 attempts) .458

8. Brad Richards, Tampa Bay Lightning (11 goals, 21 attempts) .524

7. Sergei Zubov, Dallas Stars (12 goals, 25 attempts) .480

6. Pavel Datsyuk, Detroit Red Wings (11 goals, 21 attempts) .524

5. Slava Kozlov, Atlanta Thrashers (13 goals, 20 attempts) .650

4. Jussi Jokinen, Dallas Stars (15 goals, 26 attempts) .577

3. Erik Christensen, Pittsburgh Penguins (10 goals, 17 attempts) .588

2. Paul Kariya, St. Louis Blues (12 goals, 19 attempts) .632

1. Petteri Nummelin, Minnesota Wild (8 goals, 9 attempts) .889

I added the scoring average, and I wonder why they're not listed by that. Obviously there must be some subjectivity to his list.

i think it's god a lot to do with natural ability.

most of the guys there are great stick handlers, only one different is Kariya who has a rocket of a shot.

the reason i guess they're not listen in % is that they've taken into consideration the goalie fact, and the situation (ie game winner, game saver, etc)..

they missed the fact that one only (i think) has ever saved a Datsyuk PS though. He's either missed, or hit the most on the not sucessful attempts.

Man, I didn't realize Nummelin has scored that much in shootouts !

He's a defenseman, right ??

He can stickhandle like crazy on shootout. I think all his goals are on dekes. But he is not so good on defense. Wild played him few times on a wing because of injures and he looked much better there.

I'd say that looks pretty good. There are guys on teams that don't go into alot of shootouts. If Zherdev had more attempts, he'd definitely be up there.
