Recchi picked up by ATL on re-entry waivers

I know there's already a Recchi thread, but that was an original waiver... he's now on re-entry waivers, which means teams can claim him and pay only half of his 1.75 Million dollar salary, with Pitsburgh having to pay the other half.

Considering over a quarter of the season has already been played, Recchi would only cost a team roughly 700K for the year.

Is he worth it now???

I would say he's worth a shot now. Only having to pay half his salary is a huge selling point. A team would be foolish not to give this guy a chance. He might have a huge boost to his game with a change of scenery.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, if we were to bring someone new in they better have a bigger upside then "veteran leadership" we have plenty of that.

I agree. But there should be plenty of teams out there that could use some extra veteran leadership. I will be quite surprised if no one picks him up this time around. But yeah, as for the Red Wings, no way we should pick him up.
