cr00d 26 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 (edited) I know there's already a Recchi thread, but that was an original waiver... he's now on re-entry waivers, which means teams can claim him and pay only half of his 1.75 Million dollar salary, with Pitsburgh having to pay the other half. Considering over a quarter of the season has already been played, Recchi would only cost a team roughly 700K for the year. Is he worth it now??? stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 I wouldn't even think of it here in Detroit, but I could see him working well in St. Louis or even ending landing in Edmonton - They could use the veteran leadership...
wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 IMO he might as well just retire. he's had a good career, but it's time to hang them up

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 Carolina will pick him up for 700k. Carolina is near the top of the standings, I don't think he'll make it to them.
Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted December 7, 2007 I would say he's worth a shot now. Only having to pay half his salary is a huge selling point. A team would be foolish not to give this guy a chance. He might have a huge boost to his game with a change of scenery.
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 If it ain't broke don't fix it, if we were to bring someone new in they better have a bigger upside then "veteran leadership" we have plenty of that.

I agree. But there should be plenty of teams out there that could use some extra veteran leadership. I will be quite surprised if no one picks him up this time around. But yeah, as for the Red Wings, no way we should pick him up.
