Raleigh NOT Hockeytown, USA...

They love hoops

Hockey fans in Raleigh eager to see the Hurricanes and Red Wings play a rare Sunday game were disappointed.

The Hurricanes' local rights holder, FSN South, decided to pass on the Hurricanes-Wings game and televise an ACC basketball game between Boston College and Maryland.

Never mind the fact the game started at 5 p.m. and the basketball game didn't begin until 7:30 p.m. The station wasn't even interested in joining the hockey game in progress.

Guess there wasn't a NASCAR race to re-broadcast? :P

Go, Wings! Beat Smashville tonight!!! Go, Ozzie!!!!!

wow could they have paired two more unexciting teams together on a back2back hockey night.... Hurricanes and now the Nashville... ugh!!! This is painful.

Maybe they will show ***** shooting or Kenny Rogers' Country Christmas or something in Nashville, in favor of the Wings game. :P

Shoot I would take upteen replays of the Gambler being played over having to suffer through 2-1/2 hours of Nashville... damn they just never did anything to tug at my emotions at all... they are like a non-entity to me. One of the few teams that do nothing to me. Perhaps in a few years when they get World Jr. star Jeremy Smith in their actual lineup it will be more exciting... right now its so hard to get excited about watching them.
