TSN Speculates Turco for St. Louis

With Mike Smith playing so well, with Turco's history of playoff first-round losses, with Tampa Bay lacking a true starter (Holmqvist gave up four goals on six shots tonight, and he's their best), with Tampa Bay needing to dump one of Richards, Lecavalier or St. Louis, and with Dallas desperately needing some offensive power, TSN is speculating a Turco for St. Louis trade.

It'd make sense for both teams, though were I the Lightning I'd try to unload Richards instead.

this would not surprise me, really. Turco may have worn out his welcome in Dallas, Smith is outstanding and the players show up for him. St. Louis would be worshipped in Dallas.

I too think this would be an interesting trade an good for both teams. But...

Dallas Stars' Turco isn't trade bait

"I don't like to talk about rumors. But in regard to Turco, the first thing about that is, I don't want to trade him. And the second thing is, I really have no plans to trade him," Jackson said

"Marty is the backbone of our team, on the ice and in the locker room," Jackson said. "He's one of best leaders we have, and a lot of what we do revolves around him."
