Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Since I'm too lazy to go thru each, & every post prior to yours - are there really some fans out there that believe Dmac will provide some scoring for our 2nd line? For me he's good for several minutes on ice with some physical play (3rd/4th line), & about 10 min in the sin bin - taking a bloodied opponent (preferably Pronger) to the opposing sin bin as well That's all us 'Grit Slappies' can ask for He's been around for a while... he adds experience to any line he's on. I'm not saying he'll score a ton, but he'll likely help others (new fish) to do better (verbally or in setups).
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 IMHO it'll make our smaller guys (Maltby in particular) play with a chip on their shoulder...The combo of Dmac, & Downey in the line-up could make some of the opposition think twice about running our guys. McCarty's greatest contribution will be teaching our young foreign skaters how to correctly trash talk, North American style.
Green Wing 26 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 McCarty played his last home game with the Griffins last night, getting an assist. He has two road games to go before he comes up. Nice wee video and report about his time in GR from mlive: McCarty's Last Home Game
cirov19 1 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 I'm sure we'll get some good stuff out of him, no matter what it is. He may not bring some scoring but we know he will definately play for it... and he will be physical. Our Wings are starting to be physical again, and I love it. Hocketownwest 11 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Nice guy, my 10 year old daughter wanted to go desperately last night to Darrens last home game here so I got seats next to the tunnel. She was happy she got his poster and after their pregame practice I was happy as Darren signed my RW McCarty jersey when he came off the ice. He was trying to sign anything people hung over the rail, most of which were the posters. Great game even though Darren looked to be in pain most of the game from his sore ribs. schulzte 18 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 10 points in 13 games is more than I was expecting, even at the AHL level, thats not bad. He more left in the tank than most thought, I believe.
IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 Well like it or not he has made it. He has a slight rib injury and I am hoping that it will be very short. Maybe in the line up tonight? Congrats Mac, some of us believed the entire time. Lets get you on the ice!!!
RW_Fan77 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 I will be envious of those that are at the Joe when he makes his return. The guy has always been one of my favorites. I hope he has a Kocur-like return and gets one more chance to raise the Cup.
