Lidstrom is like Flavor Flav

Whilst I would like to talk about how Elvis never meant shi*t to Lidstrom, I'm going to take this thread back to the serious line.

Lidstrom will go down in history as the best player never to win a Hart Trophy. There, I've said it. The Hart normally goes to a player who elevates an average or above average team to Cup contender. The wings have been an elite team, Stanley Cup favourites for all bar his first couple of years. Of course he has been a key facet of that, but his genius is taken for granted around the league.

Yzerman never won the Hart, and I have him ranked ahead of Lidstrom on my all time list.

Not trying to play music critic here but Flav was never a gansta nor did he profess to violence and guns. Actually Public Enemy's message was quite the opposite, while yes they did have the PE Soldiers, they were more of a figurative reference. They were about changing the way Young, well all, Black people were thought of and the way they thought. Chuck D especially was all about educating Blacks as well as trying to change the violence and alcohol induced life style that was running rampant in the black community. Flav was the hype man, that is why more often than not he was only heard yelling things like "Yeahhhh BOOOOYY". However when he was actually given a song like "Yo ****@" or "911 is a joke" he suprisingly carried his own quite well, not as well as Chuck D but better than say Fat Joe or a lot of the rappers out there today.

Sorry for that but thought I would share, as a 31 year old white guy that grew up on early rap(I was made fun of by my friends in elementary school a lot, as they were listening to Megadeth and Metallica I was listening to Run DMC, PE, LL Cool J, Kool Moe Dee) hopefully I didn't offend anyone by using the word Black. Not my intention.

BTW it is scary how natural that pic of Lids looks though!!! Maybe he grew up on PE and LL as well, that would be cool as hell!!!!!

Well did you know that 1 out of 3 black men in this country eventually end up in correctional institutes throughout America. They must not have influenced enough young African American's to think outside the box and use your brains and not your gats.

You, me and Chuck D agree.

Public Enemy, more specifically Chuck is very upset by the music industry glorifying the gangsta attitude and life style.

Blame Lil John cause you know that he just don't give a f***. and Eminem is so gangsta he spits rhymes like hot hot fire.. and 50 Cent lol he gets shot 50 times and survies. Maybe they should teach gangsters how to shoot someone or even a target, dont they know practice makes perfect?

Actually lets blame the media and MTV for making it cool to be "gangster" :ranting:

Lidstrom is arguably the 2nd best D-man of all time. Orr is way out in front, but then Lidstrom/Bourque/Robinson/Potvin/Harvey are all a toss-up with little to no consensus on the order - but with each Norris he adds, Nick claws his way up the list.

Yzerman, Deity on Skates that he was, is, at best, only the 3rd best centre *of his era*. 4th best if you put Messier in front of him.

I was talking about how I'd rank the 2 against each other, and not where they rank at their position. I guess it's a pretty subjective view no matter how you rank them, but I think most people (not just Wings fans) would agree with my point.
