Guest octopusdank Report post Posted January 24, 2008 i keep seeing people comment on chelios sitting out, its not really a big deal is it?? i bet he enjoys the rest, keeps him in fighting form (not literally so dont blast me) do you think he minds, or has said anything negative about it? or is babcock just being worrysome? lfd250 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 They basically have to lock him in the dresssing room. He's a player and wants to play every night. He's either dead or a coaches choice. Not his.

Salviaman 104 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 Give the guy a break, he is about to turn 46 on the 25th of this month. He probably;y needs a little more rest to play games now than he did about 5 years ago. He just wanted to be ready for the Ducks, cause we all know he wanst to settle some business with them. Cheli is a great guy, did you see him signing autographs when the Wings were leaving the bench tongith after they won? Oh and Hasek was nice and let a Wing fan take his stick home with him. I love classy players!!
shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 Yeah i don't see him finding out that he is not playing and just being OK with it. I feel like they probably have to chain him up in the locker room to keep him from dressing and heading out on to the ice. Also mad props to him and Haskek last night. What a great move stopping to sign some autographs and even cooler that Dom gave up his stick.
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 Chelios is HOF lock, and hes still great dman, I really like that guy Its good that he does not play back2back games, hes not young anymore
Turkey 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 Chelly doesn't "find out" that he's not playing. This has been standard practice all season. I'm sure it doesn't come as a shock when it happens. Does Chelly always want to play? Sure, but I'd much rather have him fresher come play off time. If we have injuries like last year, he's suddenly a top D man for the team again. Opie 308 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 This is all Babcock's doing, there is an article in a similar thread on here (I didn't take the time to look) that says he knows it is coming but it still pisses him off that he has to sit. He isn't insulted by Babs decision but it is not something he is fond of. However, when April (hopefully June) rolls around and Cheli has a few extra games in his legs, that will be a very nice thing. I haven't had a chance to watch the Wings in a while he is still jumping up in the offense quite a bit?
