Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 * Nick Lidstrom is +40 for the season. +40! That's insane. What do people think he'll end up at? +60 isn't out of the question, and what's been the best +/- ratio over the past 5 or so years? * Valtteri Filppula is +20, tied (with Zetterberg) for 6th in the entire NHL. Impressive. * Pavel Datsyuk has 6 PIM's for the entire season. 3 minor penalties in 51 games, that's ridiculous! Lady Byng trophy #3 coming his way.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 Lets give a little love to our best Canadian player too, Dan Cleary is a +22 on the season good for 5th in the league. The whole team is doing well, and all the players too!
Packer487 3 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 Datsyuk should probably get the Selke in addition to the Byng this year. Amazing what a great defensive player that guy has become.

I know, I remember a few years ago he would never see time on the PK, now he's one of the go to guys when we're down a man.

I remember last year Lids was like plus 45 through 45 games or something sick and then he pretty much stagnated and even tailed off a bit. Can he put up a monster sized +/- like Vladdy did that one year? I don't know. What I do know is that if he stays north of +40, no other dman is going to come close and given his positioning amongst scoring leaders on D, he's locked up Norris number 6. CHA CHING! toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 When you think about plus/minus, I can't help but think about Orr and Robinson. Orr had +124 one year and Robinson had a year at +120. Think about how great Lidstrom has been over his career from a plus/minus perspective. His career +/- is around +370 or so. Compare that to Robinson at +730. Unbelievable.
