Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) That wasnt the part that pissed me off. The fact he comes out in the third and picks a fight with Ryan Stone, and LEAVES HIS VISOR ON AGAIN. I will not say this kid is tough so long as he continues to leave his visor on. Stone didnt remove his either....Downie punched his helmet off. If theres a square off, thats one thing. But a spur of the moment battle like that where guys lock up immediately....you cant expect anybody to take their visor off. Do that and you end up getting drilled! Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 Yep, Didn't Lebda get booted for that last season against the Hawks? (Feb 27th game I think) Yes, he did.

I still dont like guys with visors fighting. If you wear one, dont fight, or take it off. Spur of the moment, or not.

esteef 2,679 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 I am SO sick and tired of the new wave of pests coming into the league. Guys like Downie and Perry takes runs and cheapshots at players every night and then they hide behind their massive shields and refuse to take them off when a fight they caused breaks out. Add Tootoo to that f***in' list! Arrghhh! esteef
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 Oh...oh...I feel...woozy... Mom?...is that...you? I don't....want...to....go to school....today Look at him right after the hit and the camera goes to him laying on the ice. Look at his eyes, they are open and he is looking toward the refs to see if they see his plight. Look really close, you'll see it. It's funny. Trainer: Do you know where you are? Downie: Yeah, I'm in Philli playing hockey Trainer: How many fingers am I holding up? Downie: Three Trainer: What year is it? Downie: 2008 Trainer: Do you know who you are? Downie: Yes. I'm Batman! ::Stands in heroic pose:: LOL Brilliant!
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Flyers fans should have no problem with that "hit" at all. That's the kind of hockey they love.
thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 I have sympathy for Downie due to his disability and the loss of his father (being there HAD to mess him up...), but Downie has a track record that doesn't allow me to give him the benefit of the doubt with stuff like this. So, one of two things happened: 1- Downie faked it, and is a bigger scum bag than I thought, or 2- George lit him up, and then I file this under "What You Reap So Shall You Sow". In hockey, when you take liberties, some one will always get you back. George got bounced, he paid his price. No suspension.
