I don't think I am understanding the Dan Cleary situation. I have heard that he is out for the season. Is this including the playoffs? (If we make them)

And every now and then I hear his name being brought up about a trade. I hope there is no truth to that. I have read that he doesn't want to play anywhere else, and if the Wings were to sign him, he would have to settle for less money.

Doeas anyone else have anymore insight to Dan Cleary?

as far as i know, he's just out for the rest of the regular season, and will hopefully return for the playoffs (if we make them? are you serious? haha.....) This streak could go on for many more games and we'd still be in.

No I am not serious about making the playoffs. I just hope they can turn things around here soon, I am seriously falling into depression about this streak. I am just another spoiled fan. I have every expectancy of winning the Cup this year.

All I know is that this losing streak/lack of secondary scoring is proving just how vital Dan Cleary is, not just to this year's playoff run, but to future seasons for the Wings.

Yeah, even though we've lost 6 in a row (btw, this loosing streak accounts for 30% of the entire year's losses for the wings), we're still 8 points ahead of second place in the league (Dallas), with two games in hand. Not just any team can pull off a 6 game loosing streak and still be clean favorites for the President's trophy in the middle of February.

But yes, we need Cleary badly, and the projected date of return should be right around the time playoffs start, but I wouldn't be surpirsed if he didn't return until the second round, as tentative return dates are usually pushed back.

The only good thing Cleary has going for him, and what makes me feel like he'll be back by the start of the playoffs is that it is an injury which will not prevent him from keeping up his conditioning. If it were a knee injury, or something like that I'd be seriously worried about him getting back, and when he would get back how effective he'd be. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a late March/early April return--we need that sort of work ethic in the playoffs!

I am counting the days until Cleary comes back. He is one of my favorite players. I love his drive, passion, and the fact that he never gives up on a play. He is going to be really valuable for us in the playoffs. And they need to hurry up and resign him.

The Wings had a 6-game losing streak a few seasons ago (1999-2000 or 2000-2001) and they made the playoffs just fine. Relax, they aren't just going to snowball from the #1 to the #10 spot in a matter of a week.

I highly doubt he is trade bait, but this is just one imbecile's opinion. He should be back by late regular season or playoffs me thinks.
