That's a beautiful stat. It's deserving of a medal, trophy, or some sort of award. I can't even remember the last time someone on the Wings had that many in one game.

f*** yes. i didn't get to watch the game, but i really wish i had after watching that. it's good to finally see some PASSION from the team. i love downey getting after people, i love babcock yelling...mostly, i love us scoring. clearly, we needed our skilled players to get back in the game...but downey's 29 PIM i think were a huge part of this victory.

maybe this will be an object lesson for the boys. stop hatin' on everybody! these are the wings, and this is the game they play. they've found it again. let's hope they can keep it.

I was glad to see some real emotion from Mike Babcock. He looked like he could seriously kick Granato's ass all the way to Wyoming.

I loved the beatdown as much as anyone but somethings to consider here before referring this to Claude Lemieux..

Lapperriere's hit was a borderline elbow, we'll all say it was but he didn't seem to have the intent to knock Lidstrom out.

Lemieux had a history of cheapshots without backing it up, Lapperriere is a stand up hockey player

Lapperriere is an honest fighter but Downey is out of his league, Lappy still had him a go and lost decisively, but he answered the bell.

Lapperriere said after the game that he respects Aaron Downey and that he had no intent when throwing the hit to injure Lidstrom, he felt it was a clean hit and IMO it was borderline, the refs thought it was clean though. He said if it had happened to his team he would have reacted the exact same way.

With that said.... all hail Aaron Downey! old time hockey!!

Dude. This is the second time I've seen you say that. You can't just watch the highlight reel to see what happened. Anyways, great to see your support. The Wings pulled off the win but that game in Dallas wasn't a bad effort, even though they lost.

still a different scenario IMO, Lapperriere was willing to fight but could no longer continue... I don't look at Cleary's fight against Pronger and think wow, Pronger beat the s*** outta the turtling Cleary

100% correct, I am surprised he even went with Cleary, not because Danny boy is some heavy weight but he has an edge to him, which I thought would deter Pronger and have him try to tangle with Dats. Some one more Pronger's style!
