Deke 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) That really sucks. At least he'll be back for when it counts. Guess that means Ledba or Lija get a playoff spot during the first round. I'm pretty sure with that injury Chelios is no question on whether he'll get a spot now. He just has too much vetran presence to not play. Would love to see Erricson start a playoff game or two as well but the odds of that happening are equal to the odds of Sammuelson getting a hat trick. Guest Hatethedrake! Report post Posted March 20, 2008 We can survive the 1st round without Stuart. At least he will be back. No worries. We have lots of defensive depth to be ok until he returns. My guess is Lilja is re-united with Kronwall and Lebda and Meech rotate with Chelios.

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) Well, this is exactly the reason why we got him in the first place. Now were just back to square 1. Could be worse.. MaynardJKeenan 1 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 Man I hope people don't over react to this news. We've won all year w/ out him and we have 1st all but wraped up.
This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 Man, I was really liking watching Stuart play here in Detroit too. He bring a physical presence that we need and I really think he could be a great defenseman in our system. Thank god he'll be back in tme for the playoffs though. It could be much much worse people, he could've been out for the rest of the playoffs too! I'll be very very happy if he returns in time for the playoffs (or a couple games in, either/or). Get well Stuart! We NEED YA!

MaynardJKeenan 1 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 Yea. Cuz having Lebda in the line-up instead of Stuart is going to help our chances If we can't hold off the Sharks for 8 games without Stuart, somethings wrong. Not like it would kill us to finish 2nd, might be betteer.

As long as the 3 seed wins the opening round....but a date with the winner of Dallas/Anaheim in the second round isn't too appealing either (given the 6th seed "upsets" the 3rd seed). sergei_is_still_a_wing 1 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 well f*** me running. next thing you know kronner and lids will be struck by lightning. can any blueliners catch a break in the second half of the season? come on. this is getting out of hand. my thoughts. healthy scratch EVERY SINGLE STARTING player for the last 8 games. including goaltenders. who cares if we lose them all. at least we'll be healthy for the first round. (note exaggeration/sarcasm with a hint of sincerity) time to start sitting Z too. we need his back to be at 100%.
Guest Hank=FutureCaptain Report post Posted March 20, 2008 Horrible news... We can still get by. But this is a big loss. Even bigger if he misses any playoff games. Let's just hope he's ready for the post season. That's all that matters. As long as he's ready for the playoffs, we'll be just fine.
Yzermania 156 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 good thing is, it's his finger which means there's nothing to stop him from skating hard right now, so once it's healed he should be ready to go right away.

Let's just hope he's ready for the post season. That's all that matters. As long as he's ready for the playoffs, we'll be just fine. If the playoffs started today, I think he'd be in the lineup w/ no mention of this injury. He'll be back. Edit: I think I remember when his injury happened. As the clock was running out, a BJ player took one last shot toward our end and hit one of our players ( I think Stuart). The player grimoused, but then they quickly panned over to Ozzy putting on the glasses. If anyone tivo'd the game, maybe check it out.
