The Playoff Beard

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I am in, I've been growing playoff beards since 2002. I normally wear a beard thats trimmed short with no moustache, but I will shave it off the morning of Game 1 (Thursday).

I always shave my neck during the playoffs but I let the rest of my face go until the Wings are out. I made the mistake last year of trimming it for a job interview. This was during the Ducks series and the Wings lost, so I wont make the same mistake ever again!!!

I'll probably shave my neck regularly during the playoffs, as I start to look like Abe Lincoln otherwise.

I've done one for the last 2 years, and i'm definitely doing it again. I think this year i'm gonna start out with a pre-beard though, just trim it really short tomorrow morning and then not touch it till we hoist lord stanleys cup.

I use to grow one for the playoffs, but have had to stop the passed two years. I work at in ultra-conservative envirnoment and beards are not allow, however mustaches are allowed! So I am going to try to grow a stash! (my wife will probabaly kill me!)

Unfortunatly due to regulations I cannot grow a beard but I will be rocking a sweet mustache. I have never had one before now but I will be willing to give free mustache rides!!!

You have to promise to curl it up at the ends when it gets long enough hehe

Well, I'm in a dilemma here. I've not shaved for a week, so I've got some pretty serious beardy foundations in place - I'm at that horrible itches-like-hell-till-it-gets-a-bit-longer phase.

I should shave tomorrow before game1 cos I'm kinda cheating right now, but I don't want to have to suffer the itch again.

To further complicate things, Mrs Nev has just rung me at work and I'm on a promise for Friday night, provided I shave before then!!! Now for you young guys that might not seem like a big deal, but when you've married for 8 years and have 2 kids aged 3 months and 3 years, believe you me, you need to take advantage of every opportunity!!

edit: ooh look, I made the 4th line :nhl2:

The only problem is that I am from middle eastern descent, so me + beard @ aiport = trouble.... but let me say I can get a nice beard going... I would have to ask the approriate parties if I could grow a beard (you know who I am talking about). And yes, I think I would dye it Red to support the Wings... Im that crazy.

Guest Hank=FutureCaptain

I always have a beard.

But it's not long or anything. Only like 2-3 days past the "shadow" stage.

So maybe I just let my current beard grow crazy long?(of course assuming there will be a long playoff run)
