GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Anyone who wants to face nashville is misguided. They have one line of offense, don't play as physical, and we have a history of beating Vancouver. Plus their injuries are hurting them way more then Nashvilles are. Nashville's goaltending has been playing better then Luongo of late anyways. Not to menchon that they have jerk goons, dick fans, and DON'T DESERVE A HOCKEY TEAM!!! effing A Why couldn't you burried that Boyes!! I say we could beat Vancouver in five. Nashville, the way we have been playing the Central I worry we could lose to. All the more reason to want to play Nashville and knock them out of the playoffs again. If you really would rather face Roberto Luongo than Dan Ellis, there is a good chance we aren't the misguided ones in that case. * Nashville wins! 89 points and back to 8th place. Now we need a Canucks loss in regulation.
RedFX 48 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 I left my dorm and the Preds were down 3-0 with 12 minutes left in the first. Then I hear they are in OT. Great win. That kinda reminds of the game back in 03-04 where the Wings were up 3-0 late in the third, and the Preds scored 4 times within the final 8 minutes to win the game. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 I hate that team more then any other, including the Ducks. I will never, ever willingly root for them. Ugliest jerseys, dumbest fans, no history, not a single player I like. Like you people can't stay up and watch the Wings!?!?! I don't go to bed till 2 anyways, you must all be old. Go Canucks! Other way around, because I'm young and go to school. I don't want to stay up around finals week, when I should be getting some sleep instead. That might not hold true as much for the 1st round, but definitely for the later rounds. If the Wings would just move east, everything will be fine.
Guest Hank=FutureCaptain Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Wow what a choke job by St. Louis...but then again, it's not like they're playing for anything. The Preds are fighting for their hockey lives at this point. Big choke by the Blues, but nice win for the Preds. Hopefully they'll get into that 8th seed. It's much better for the Wings to play the Preds, and I'm not even talking in terms of who's 'easier.' The playoffs are a different beast for all teams and anything can happen. I want to face the Preds for two reasons: #1 It would be MUCH easier travel for the Wings & #2 They don't have Luongo.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 CBC bias is fine by me, especally considering in the first round all of the games will likely be on FSN so you won't even have to deal with that. The other option is having to mute your tv so all those dumb morons misguided chants of you suck even when the opposing goaltender is standing on his head... Tell me, who has the better record against the Wings this year? Who is going to score goals for Vancouver? After Drapes and Maltby shutdown the sedin line, who is going to beat our Defense? If we play Nashville and Tootoo injuries someone important, don't come crying to me. Vancouver doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs, and that is why I would rather play them. For starters, eight games against Nashville and only four with the Canucks is comparing oranges and apples. Besides, the regular season and playoffs are two completely different stories. Defense and goaltending win games in April and May. Vancouver certainly has goaltending, and a pretty solid defense. Nashville has no playoff experience in goal, although their defensive unit is pretty strong. I'll take the Wings chances with Dan Ellis. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) I just realized something this very moment. If the Oilers lose tonight they are officially eliminated from the playoffs. They have one game remaining after tonight and they are at 86 points. A loss gives them a *possibility* (in their last game) of getting 88 at the very most so yeah I think they are done like dinner. You want Tootoo putting a concussion on Pavel perhaps? All of the wins against the Canucks were by one goal. That is proof alone what Luongo is capable of doing in a playoff series. Why are you bringing up stats for one week anyways? You can't possibly be arguing Dan Ellis would be a tougher goalie than Luongo right?
