Maybe you just missed it, ive been part of this convo since last night, you just like to jump on peoples comments in any way you can find.

Nah, I usually never jump on people's posts for any reason. Go back and check my post history, almost nowhere do I jump on anyone, and as you can tell I have admitted being wrong to GS&T.

The only reason I jump on your posts is because they border being laughable.

I still don't see how at the time this was wrong... although now with the new "avery rule" in effect... which BTW i think is Effing hilarious to know a specific rule was created (even as dumb as it sounds in written formality) specifically for something you did...

now i guess it is "wrong" but still... everyone is deadhorse.gif

I don't care about the jumping around like an idiot that just makes him look like more of an asshat, but I think the swinging his stick at/around Marty's mask is just classless!

1. he can't see the puck he has no idea when or where Marty may move to.

2. it is dangerous to wave your stick around some ones head, intentionally to be annoying or trying to get a puck. That is why there is high sticking penalties.

Just because Avery is doing the I am not touching you thing my 7 year old cousin stopped doing a year ago, doesn't mean he couldn't potentially hurt someone.

I do agree it is classless and unsportsmanlike to dance around like that, but that is not my main issue with this.

Let me ask you a question, What if he hits Broduer in the head and gives him a concussion, are you still ok with it?

Or is it because no one got hurt that it is ok?

Isn't he a hockey player?, so he should be doing what he can to make hockey plays at all times. Besides annoying Broduer what hockey play can he make from that position, can he tip a pass/shot intentionally?

No he was being an asshat.

I commend tootoo for realizing there is something else on the ice he can do instead of attempting to injure players

Let's all be friends again now.

I think the league did a good job of letting everyone know this is in essence, bush league antics. So now it will stop.

This doesn't mean people weren't justified in finding it hilarious for whatever reason.

All it means is the league's officials still don't know what the rulebook is if you shoved it up their asses.

At least the league dealt with it swiftly. It's a done issue. Thankfully there are games on tonight and we can all move on.

PS: PEOPLE, PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO BUST OUT ALL YOUR SUPERSTITIOUS STUFF, WHATEVER IT MAY BE, PICK UP THE SLACK FOR A POOR BASTARD THAT HAS TO GET DRUNK TONIGHT PLAYING SOFTBALL AND WILL HAVE TO TIVO THE GAME! :(

I find this a much more effective way for Avery to get at Brodeur.

Marty could've cracked his head on the crossbar. Just goes to show you young kids out there, don't disgrace the game by embellishing. That means you too Kirk Maltby!

edit: Hey, that's our very own BRaf jumping in there!

Just some random thoughts addressing these..

If Brody was a good boy he would stay in his crease where the skater isn't allowed and where Avery wasn't. The only time he was ever in danger of getting hit by Avery is when it came out of the crease to PUNCH Avery in the face.

But without contact... there is not high-sticking penalty.. Then only contact made was Brody PUNCHING Avery... Players don't get high-sticking penalties because they almost hit a player.. contact must be made... unless its a great sell by the opposing player.

You are arguing to argue now, I never said he hit Broduer, or that swinging near someone should be a penalty. I said it was dangerous to do that, which is why there is a high sticking penalty. But you keep searching people's post to find one thing you can argue with, I will chalk it up to the playoffs have you off of your game.

I really think the league has much more important things to worry about. Sure, Avery's an ass, but many other things need to be adressed before this situation, such as piss poor officiating and head shots. God forbid a forward makes a goalie feel uncomfortable. And to those of you who say "it compromises the integrity of the game," I have just one thing to say...

Gary Bettman.

The problem is the piss poor referees. If they enforced the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty the way the current rule book says, he would have got 2mins for unsportsmanlike conduct and then everyone would be talking about the asshat cost his team a 5-3.

You're the only one still complaining about this...seemingly bordering whining.

I think even Osgod gave up

I am replying to You who is replying to me who is replying to you etc.... I am not grasping random posts here...

Playoffs don't have me off my game... In fact the random threads started about the most assine stuff going on in the NHL during playoffs is rather humorous...

I will forever chuckle when i hear the rule read aloud or see it written on paper... its effing funny as hell... that verbage is so spot on!

Now i wonder how enforcible it will be... i mean its not something as obvious as a missed puck into the netting still being in play (twice so far i have seen) or a skate in the crease scoring the gwg of the stanley cup... I am sure it is just a matter of time before we are all bitching about goalie intererence costing us a goal anyways...

Ah well... sooooo How come i can still buy tickets to nashville tonight? I thought they had real fans down there
