Tommie2 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Well, blame who you want I'll give you options. "Lilja should never wear the Winged Wheel again. He f*cked us in the conference finals last year and he's f*cking us again!" "Hasek is old and he sucks. 2 goals in 11 seconds is one thing, but 2 goals in 9 seconds... Someone get him a kimono and a sword!" "Seriously, why is Babcock here? You don't break up the best line in hockey in the most important game of the year!" "WTF is wrong with Hudler? Why is he on the team? SHOOT THE PUCK!!!" Who gets the noose for tonight's loss? I wish I could Tivo time to the next game and avoid all of the finger pointing and internet GM talk here, but I think I'll just get hammered and watch the board eat the team whole. its time to go with osgood detroit should have a 3-0 lead and I would put in ericsson in place of puckbages lilja. b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Hasek has been good a lot of the time, and even great at times this series, but has probably let in around 3 softies so far at least. I'm not a fan of Hasek, but I'm not going to blame him. His defensemen have been caught sleeping countless times this series. I don't blame Dom much for letting in a softy here and there, though I'm not estatic about it, but when you are looking to win the cup your goaltender needs to hold on tight and rob somebody. I'm not calling for Ozzy by any means, though I would prefer number 30 in goal, but this seems to be situations where Osgood would be more suited. As far as goaltenders go, Ozzy bounces back from a goal as good, if not better than anyone. He forgets about it once the horn goes. I'm thinking that no matter how badly our team plays, your goaltender should be solid enough to get one of the two in those 2 minutes, those 11 seconds, those 9 seconds. Asside from the goal in game one and the empty netter last night, the Predators goals have come in pairs. The Wings haven't been good enough, and Dom hasn't been good enough to help that. Real1 2 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I am embarrassed. Imagine what the Nashville fans who are trolling here think. One loss and we are broken. Great point.
wingfan4ever 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) I've got some bad post game loss jitters. Not doubt, just nervousness. I'll be fine after Wednesday's win by the Wings!!!! GOOOOOOOO WINGS!!!! Edited April 15, 2008 by wingfan4ever
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I think yesterday was a matter of playing down to their opponent. When they had the 2 goal lead they quit trying very hard and sat back. You could see once the Preds scored goal 1, the wings were all flat footed. I mean, it appeared to me the wings were just waiting to get to game 4 with half the game to go last night. I will say it again, i really think we will find out what kind of team we have tomorrow. If the wings lose tomorrow, then we don't have as great of a team as we would all like to think. If the wings win, then that's what they are expected to do. They are expected to respond to adversity. I think the Wings never would have sat back like that against a team like Anaheim or SJ last night.
Jwo 7 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Lidstrom and the rest of the defense team. They are failing to cover, sometimes turning pucks over, Making sloppy passes and are not clogging up the lanes. Results in the Preds being able to score goals with in few seconds of apart.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Wings are fine. I agree that it's the way they lost that makes us bitter, but yeah they'll be better tomorrow. GO WINGS!!!
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) The whole team was at fault for the loss. They will learn from their mistakes, come out to play Wednesday, and everything will be fine. If there is one guy that is bothering me in this series, it is Val Filppula. He had a very poor game last night. For all the praise (and rightfully so) Filppula gets on here, it's fair to say he hasn't performed well at all to this point. Opie 308 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) GoWings: It definitely looks like he is nervous out there. I would have thought that with this being his second post season he wouldn't be so nervous, but he has missed a couple of open nets that I would expect him to bury, not just because he is a Red Wing, but because he is Filppula. EDIT: DAMN SPELLING!!! Edited April 15, 2008 by Opie
