Second thought this is definitely an AHL signing, I really don't see him beating out Abdelkader or Kopecky for the few forward spots that will be open next year. CanadianSwede19 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) I've seen him play a couple times in Grand Rapids. He seems pretty solid, not afraid to go into corners, fights, throws hits, and oh, he scores goals sometimes too. metalwinger_13 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 ya i used to watch im when the toledo storm were still aroudn and he was playing for him. never stuck out to me really but id only go to a few games a year. say ellis play for the storm a few times so it was nice to see him on the wings. was a lil disappointed he got waived and picked up by the kings. CapnSmitty 39 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 Tardif Really stepped up his play in GR this year...he started the year only on a Griffins Contract, and made himself a prospect for the Wings....His biggest motivator was D-Mac....Mac And Tardif had a great chemistry off the ice, and Jamie learned alot from him. One major thing Tardif realized is that he had to become a more complete player, and I think this year he proved that he can be.... After the Griffins traded Keefe, Tardif stood up and became the Sheriff for the Griffins, and Held his own in a Couple fights against much bigger and stronger opponents, and even laid a couple whoopin's on Mitch Love, and a smuck from Peoria. He became adept at agitating as well, and played as he had a chip on his shoulder much of the remainder of the season which really opened up the wings brass' eyes.... My best comparison on the wings would be Tardif is becoming a smaller version of mac, with more speed, even a maltby type player, just not against dropping the mitts....
