Brunnstrom Back in Play

IMO we need to sign this guy and put him on either the 1st or 2nd line. We can break up Datsyuk and Zetterberg and pair one of them with Brunnstron and the other with Filpula. I think this means that Samuelson should be gone. Either that or Downey wont be back and we will resign McCarty for Cheap.

I really don't like the idea of this kid coming and getting NHL minutes

without even going through AHL. he might have the tools to get it done

but I just don't see Holland letting him play without a stint with Griffs

where he gets used to American way of playing hockey.

if the talent is worth that I'd love Wings to sign him. but I'm really,

really in favor of putting him to play with Griffs at least for first 3-4 months

of the regular season

If he can step right in then I wouldn't have a problem with him not playing for the Griffs. Why not take a chance on this guy, it's not like Detroit has boatloads of forward talent playing in the minors or in Europe...

And that's exactly it. Look at our top prospects and you will see we don't have anyone close to this guy in terms of scoring potential. Yes, we have some skilled guys in Emmerton, Dick Axelsson and Jan Mursak, but they aren't nearly ready for the NHL. Brunnstrom may not be the sniper that someone of this much hype should be at this point in his career, but in the salary cap world, this can really have a huge impact on our future if he pans out. and And the best part -- he's over 6' and 200 lbs!

Datsyuk and Zetterberg weren't in the AHL. Keep that in mind.

Franzen, Lidstrom and Rafalski also came straight from Europe to the NHL. If he's NHL-ready putting him in the AHL is counterproductive.

Last weekend the boneheads on satellite hot toaster said he was headed to Vancouver.

He was, until their GM got fired. Brunnstrom was going there because he waas promised a line with the Sedins. Now, with that promise gone the Wings are in it... along with the Nucks, Leafs, and Ducks.

Rafalski was born in Dearborn, sir. I agree, though. What's the point of sending him to the AHL if he's already better than certain players on our current roster?

He was born there, but he was playing abroad when he was found.

I never said anything about where he was born. Have a clue before you correct someone.
