I'm talking a close 2-1 OT win followed by a blowout once the air is taken out of Nashville. Gee, it's almost like we've all forgotten the Colorado series in 02, where many of you probably thought we'd get blasted in that one, too. Have some freaking faith people. You can't bash the Wings. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I'm not saying I'm not disappointed, but I also don't think I could do a better job than the current Wings squad the way some people on here seem to. well...I dont think anyone on here thinks THEY can do a better job than the Wings can. But its pretty apparent at this juncture in the series that the 8th seeded Nashville Predators with a young, inexperienced team backed by a former AHL goalie and headed by a coach with an abysmal playoff record can do better than the Wings can. The Wings offense has been good, with the exception of a few blown plays but Nashville as had those too. Ellis has just been flat out dominant. He is a very good goaltender and I give him kudos for his team not losing 4-1 already. Hey, I totally agree with you. The problem that I have is that this is a very critical game. The Wings have been a totally different team tonight... no odd man rushes, no turnover or brainfarts leading to goals, no deflected goals. Defense was great, only allowing 16 SOG the entire game. No Legwand, No Arnott, powerplay can't get going, we played the last 8 minutes on our heels and played the 6-5 like we were down 2 men. Who the f*** thought that strategy up of laying off and letting the Preds get set. We needed to ******* attack their PP there and not let them dictate. Of course the scored a ******* goal. This is so typical. I hope this shows people yet again that the shot count doesn't amount to a hill of s***. I was so sick of hearing how we lost last year on flukey plays and that we outworked, outhit, outshot, blah, blah, f***in' blah. We had this series nearly locked up with 4 minutes to go in game 3. We had a shot here with 50 seconds to go. How many times are we going to hit Ellis in his ******* chest. I swear I'm glad i'm I don't own a gun b/c I might go outside and start firing indiscriminately in all directions due to the ******* rage i'm experiencing right now. I'm beyond dissapointed anymore. That was just stupid that we had to gotten scored on in the last minute of the period. Wings need to score early in OT, cause you know the Preds will go out and put enormous pressure on the team with the momentum they have with the late goal.
