WQF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Predators 0

Something I was just thinking about..

Detroit beats Nashville in 6 games. 2004, Cujo had a shutout in the game. 2008, Osgood has one.

Calgary went to game 7 with Vancouver, and now are at home for Game 6. If they win, they'll be in a Game 7 back in San Jose.

Wouldnt it be funny if they were to win and we'd face them in the 2nd round?

Yeaaa wings!!!!!!!

The team played some amazing hockey this series although there was a time when we were all a little edgy...

I was just so amazed at Osgood and how well he played.

I hope we stay with the lineup changes that won us this series. Helm was too damn good he should stay. Osgood of course needs to stay.

And Brett Lebda actually looked really good i thought out there. keep him over lilja

Kronner = Vladi 2.0

Dallas Drake was brought here for the playoffs.

Hudler, I try to hate you, but then you do something brilliant and completely redeem yourself!

I am eating crow for every bad word I said about the shrimp.

Dallas-King of the Ugly

helm is my pleasant surprise of the playoffs so far

Classy act by the pred fans at the end.

We move on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know about Lebda. I love his speed and his offensive style, but he's a turnover waiting to happen in his own zone.

Same goes for Rafalski. He looked pretty bad defensively a few times this series.

Looks like my Lids jersey is holding the luck.

Question for those superstitious types among us though...

Assuming we don't sweep our way through the rest of the playoffs, I'm going to have to change my jersey again eventually. The only other active roster player I have right now (not counting a too-small Osgood jersey) is Hasek and, unfortunately (sorry loo :(), I don't think that one'll be good luck. So I have Hull, Yzerman and Shanny. However, my Zetts and D-Mac jerseys have also been washed since the losses, so the bad luck may have been washed out of them.

Any suggestions? And I'm totally serious about this.

can I have it, if you don't want it? Mine is signed and I don't wear it anymore.

I vote for Mac!

I don't mean to come off as a ***** or anything, but where are those that constantly talked smack about Huds?

I think he's been AWESOME this post season and has stepped up his game. 2 big goals, and 3 assists and a couple of hits. Just thought I'd bring that up because ya know I was called dumb, and blind for believing that Huds is a good player that could make a difference.

Great last 30 mins by the Wings. NSH got virtually nothing in our zone till the last 5 mins, and even then they didn't create a great deal.

Ozzie - totally in control and cool, we never looked in danger with him there. If that was Dom in net, he would've got bored with the lack of action and tried stickhandling the puck to the blue-line or something equally dumb.

In fact, if it wasn't for Dom, this could and should have been over in 4. Game effort by the Preds, but the better, nay dominant, team won :)

Now I'm off to bed - I gotta be up in 6 hours!

I completely agree Reem. Excellent post, it used to be that Huds was such a weak player and flip was our next big player. Now what? Hudler is making more happen on the 4th line than Flip can on any other line.

Flip needs to get going.

good point, he's been just great. Of course, Detroit fans never, ever rag on their own players, even when they don't deserve it, you know?

yeah, whatever! :hehe:

consider the source, hon. It's the Nashville media who did the picking. And I don't mean a banjo. So there you have it. Normal people know better.

Honestly, there were a lot of deserving players today. Legwand and Ellis absolutely had excellent games. Lids doesn't deserve a star on account of his fluke goal, but he was outstanding defensively today. But it's hard for Drake and Ozzie to be both left out.

Can I just note what a horse Dallas Drake was for us today? Good lawrd. The guy was creating havoc, getting shots, playing tough on the boards and doing good forechecking. Really showed his value today.
