wingnut4013 12 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 I can't believe it. The Pistons lost game 1 to the lowly 76ers. I still expect the pistons to win the series 4 games to 2. Its just shocking that Philly won thats all.
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 It's pathetic. Like i already said in another thread, they are maybe the most major headcases ever this year. Goodness. They better get this series over in 5 and be ready for the Celtics.
wingnut4013 12 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 There really is no way that the Pistons will win the NBA championship. I think the Celtics will win.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 That sucks. At least te Wings won. I think the winner will come from the West anyway. Every team in the East is too s*** except Boston and Detroit.

PenaltyShot 96 521 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Tayshaun and Sheed should have made those baskets in the final seconds :nonono: I don't know what happened in that second half, but I never want to see it happen again!

wingnut4013 12 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Not that I want the Pistons or any Detroit team to lose, I am just happy it was them and not the Wings. So am I. I'd rather see the Wings win, but I want to see the pistons win too. Even though the Wings are my favorite Detroit sports team, I like to see the Pistons, Tigers and even the Lions win. 91to-the-rafters 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Just shows what happens when a team loses defensive intensity. The '04 version of the Pistons might only score 14 points in a quarter, but they made damn sure the other team would only score 14 or 13! Saunders brought offensive respectability, but the team lost its soul!

gowingsgo 3 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Maybe you're just not as good as you think you are. The team is older. The Sixers are younger and may be hungrier. I think the window of opportunity has passed the Pistons by a few years ago.

The Pistons are getting older, and the window is closing, but these guys aren't ancient if you don't count McDyess. This team should have a couple more runs in them, including one this year. The Spurs are still the team to beat.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 Wow, this teams even worse than I thought. They are the slackest bunch of underperformers ever. That's so harsh. Based on one game too. I don't see how you could call them underperformers. This team has no stars like LeBron, KG, Paul, Nash, Nowitzki I could go on and on. Detroit is the most complete team in the league. The rest just have one or two stars.

True, but when do they all consistently show up to play? I love the Pistons a lot, but the team is underperformers when you really look at it. They are/have been the most complete team and have lost two straight years to two inferior teams. It wasn't even so much what Miami and Cleveland did, but what the Pistons didn't do. It's upsetting to see the Pistons continue to fall apart in the same fashion every playoff.

It's upsetting to see the Pistons continue to fall apart in the same fashion every playoff. Miami was good two years ago. Last year was pretty sad. Game 5 was ridiculous. What LeBron did was unbelievable. In the last quarter and OT periods there was constantly two guys covering him yet he would still 3s from 10 feet beyond the arc. He could've kicked the ball in. I didn't see game 6 but after game 5 I felt so bad for the Pistons. They were beaten by one man and I couldn't even blame them. If LeBron had've played like that in the Finals the Cavs would've swept the Spurs not the other way. Regardless, I still think the Pistons aren't too bad and not winning the championship wouldn't be underachieving because of the Suns, Celtics, Spurs and Hornets. They're pretty bloody good teams. I left the Lakers out intentionally by the way. They suck!
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I'll be at the Palace for Game 5 tomorrow. Was hoping it would be the clincher, but I guess not. Wish 'em luck so I get to see a win!
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted May 4, 2008 I'm convinced that Rodney Stuckey will be a star. He already plays like a 10-year veteran. No rookie mistakes - doesn't try to force things that aren't there, takes the play that's given him and makes the best of it. I hope he's still a Piston in 10 years....he'll be an All-Star for sure.
