What's not to like about AO?

Absolutely Nothing. Fantastic player, goes 100% every shift and wants to win more than anyone. Thats why he celebrates every time WASHINGTON scores, not just himself.

Watch him maul his teammates after they score, then you will see that he is not cocky.

That being said, I also like Crosby just as much.

I don't know the guy personally but i will say he's a pretty darn fun player to watch! Been a while since i was excited to see somebody play. Not since Yzerman of course and Hasek who was a friggin blast to watch in Buffalo and still was here!

I had this conversation with my friend the other day, and this is not a who is better conversation so please don't turn it to that.

I think about Gretz and the comparison to Crosby, he is supposed to be the next Gretz. There is a ton of pressure on Crosby to be the next great one, why not make AO the face of the league.

AO has more energy, more elaborate celebrations, he to me would be the guy I would make the face.

Crosby is like Gretz in the fact that I think both are happier to be a hockey player, they are much more focused on the game and are more intense players.

AO seems to be more carefree and enjoy the game more.

To me, and this is just me, but I would rather show AO jumping around playing like a kid, then the very concentrated focussed Crosby.

Again this has nothing to do with who is better, but who paints a funner, more exciting picture of the game to help market it better.

Looking at the two I would say AO's personality (like the joke about Brashear being the man to watch in this series) would help sell the game better.

there is this little known fact in the hockey world that you can like crosby AND ovechkin hahaha. Theyre both great, I am way biased and love ovechkin way more than crosby but you don't always have to pick and choose.

As for those ask about the poor children in the arena, they hear much worse from the mouths of the fans in philly I can assure you

I have a feeling you're wrong. I know Stevie's been thrown out of a few games in his career. This is hockey, players get emotional. If you can't handle a player yelling "f*** you" then I really think you're watching the wrong sport.

Look I am not saying youre wrong. You are entitled to dislike him, but when you state that you dislike him, people are going to argue with you about why they like him and why they think your ideas are wrong.

This is a discussion board, and people are going to disagree with you, just because there might be a majority against you doesn't mean you should just concede your argument out of frustration.

This is true. At the other end of the spectrum is a VERY WELL KNOWN FACT that it is against LGW's board rules to have a topic in existence on one of these two players without mentioning the other. I think everyone has done an excellent job adhering to those rules over the past few years and I congratulate everyone for their efforts!
