Probert 5 For Fighting 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Just curious, have we? Because after 4 'victories' against Nashville and 1 'victory' against Colorado, I have yet to see the Wings credited with actually winning the game by any media source - local or otherwise. Let's talk about how the Wings escaped and forget about how quickly they chased Theodore outta the net. Let's talk about how Nashville swept us in 6 games, not the conspiracy about us winning 4-2. Let's talk about anything but giving the Redwings their due for any victory. The media shrugged off the game 6 win "puh, they were supposed to do that," but they were ready to pounce if we blew it. The Wings winning a one-goal game is evidently a win for the team facing us. I like how this is all shaping up for the Wings. It's amazing how the transgressions of years like 06 and 03 are held against the current squad. These guys are a totally different group from previous Redwings installements. Anyhoo, let's get ready to go down 0-2 to Colorado on Saturday...wait, what?

Cicada 4 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 well, to be honest.. we've not played well so far... if we actually play as we can, no one stands a chance against us
pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 It's funny... we're the powerhouse. Very much associated with winning like the Yankees or Patriots. Yet, they don't get similar treatment.

Lidsyukerberg 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 they are ill tempered sea bass actually You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that cannot be done. ufcredwingfan 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Why do you care what the media reports? A win is still a win it doesnt matter what they say. People need to stop crying about the Wings not getting the due and the respect that they deserve. News Flash Not Everyone Is A Wings Fan................... Being in Iraq you stop caring about what the media reports since they don't report half of what goes on here. There eyes are clouded as to what is really going on so why would it be any different in Sports media. Can't people just be happy that the Wings as winning? Do some front back goes...........recover......... Carry on!

Anyhoo, let's get ready to go down 0-2 to Colorado on Saturday...wait, what? I was thinking the same thing after reading this from the freep (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080425/SPORTS05/80425010/1053/SPORTS05), granted it was a Colorado columnist, but it seems to resonate the national feelings. They can make excuses for the Avs. That's fine with me Theodore was sick...tell me which one of those goals he could have stopped if he wasn't "sick." I wouldn't have blamed him for any of those. Just think of what would the Avs would have done if Forsberg wasn't out...well Stuart was out for the Wings...plus that's your team, if you need to rely on an oft injured player when he's out don't put it on the other team because they have built a better team whose not injured. I think if the Wings wouldn't have went up so quickly and had a 4-1 lead they wouldn't have sat back as much as with a 2-1 or 3-1, they would not have allowed Colorado much else. Maybe I'm not giving Colorado enough credit maybe I'm giving the Wings too much, but they went into the same shell as they did against nashville in game 3. I say it was the Wings playing down not Colorado playing up. And that's fine, I can take Colorado lightly, I'm not out there playing, the Wings are and you can be damn certain after how they played the last period and a half they are not going to take Colorado lightly either. They are a decent team that can burn you if you let them, and the Wings let them yesterday. Make all the excuses you want for the Avs...as much truth as you feel there is to Forsberg out, Theodore sick. I feel there's just as much truth as Wings stopped carrying the play and sat back for the last half of the game, but guess what...they still won. What a clutch save by Ozzie with 8.4 seconds. McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Quite frankly, as long as we have more goals at the end of the game, I don't care if we don't "win" a game this post season
RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 This is usual. People will discredit the Wings, say everyone is better than us. But what happens if we win the Cup? 2 Seconds after Lids hoists it up, Pierre and Doc will bow down and begin the long ass-kissing statements for 30 minutes or so, and say the Wings were the best and nobody had a chance. Even if we don't win this year, they will still do it to whoever wins. I kinda like the fact that we win games not by skill, but by luck. So when the announcers credit us with skill, it will be 18-0 games.

cirov19 1 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 lol so true, but you know, it all tastes so much better when the rest of the hockey world is waiting for us to slip. It's more exciting to win when everybody either wants you to lose, or thinks you're going to lose. Think about it. I hate the 'well they're going to win so there's no point in trying' outlook.
