Hello,

Has anyone seen when the games start?

I have got to assume they will be at 8 est.

Which would be great I love the fact that all of the west coast teams are elimintated, no offense west coast fans, but that means all of the games will be played on an Eastern or Central time zone!!!!

YAY no late games!!!!!

Yeah. 9 would be the latest start most likely and I don't think that will happen but if it does thats a little easier than 10. But yay to no more late nights unless it goes to OT.

Saturday's will likely be at 7:00pm for Hockey Night in Canada.

No way. That will be on at 2 or 3 in the afternoon for NBC. Thats why the Wings are starting on Thursday to begin with. So that NBC gets game 2.

Really? That's surprising. Wonder what NBC has going on this week. Poker or maybe watching horses die on the track again. Maybe they can break away from an OT game like last year for the Sens/Sabres game,to watch the jockies sit around waiting for the race to begin. I have no problem with it not being on NBC I hate them. Give me CBC any day. Even VS. The less Maguire and Milbury the better.

Isn't the TPC at Sawgrass on this weekend?

I think that is what is taking precedence over Playoff Hockey.

Not that I am in agreement with NBC, I am just saying I think that is why.

Player's Championship for Golf is next weekend.

Then May 17th and 18th they are back, but the 17th is the preakness so be prepared for them to cut OT out if it runs over and send that coverage to versus so we don't miss the preakness prematch...just like last year...

Yep you are correct. I would rather them just not have hockey on than have it on and break away from it like last year. Thats a bigger slap in the face imo. It's sad that people would rather watch golf over hockey. Hockey is boring? You're watching guys hit golf balls and then walk up to it and hit it again. I'll take that Nabokov's save last night over a nice chip shot any day.

When it comes to golf I subscribe to the George Carlin school of thought:

It's like golf. I would never play that. The game is probably interesting, to try to put a ball in the hole is maybe fun, but it is these people you have to go and hang around -- golfers -- the rest of them, the rest of them. These dorks in hats and checkered pants. You don't want to be near these people. And they all walk around -- they hit ball, they have a crooked stick, first of all, a crooked stick, hit a ball, walk after it, hit it again.

I say pick it up, put it in your pocket, go home, You're lucky you found it the first time, you know. They don't think of these things.

The game will probably start 7 on Thursday. Anyone recall the last time the Wings have not played in the pacific time zone in the playoffs? I can't (maybe in the 97 cup run???) ... last year we had to play in the Mountain time zone for the first series and in the Pacific for rounds 2 and 3. Kind of nice not playing at all in the pacific this year.

As for no pacific times in one playoff year 2006 and 2004. As for long playoff runs, like WCF's or beyond, I think 96 was the last year. 97 they plaed the Ducks in round 2. 96 they played the Jets, Blues and then Avs.

That is a great schedule, all 4 teams are going to be well rested after these series, even if they all go 7, there will be so little travel involved, hell in the east all of the guys will sleep in their own beds every night, well they will probably still go to a hotel, but you get the point.

Heres what yahoo says this afternoon. lol

schedule.jpg

espn said 12:00am. It's either miss work completely for those noon starts or stay up really late. I guess since the ratings are never good they just put them on whenever. ;)

I wonder if that means Versus will be picking up that game. I would prefer it to be NBC due to getting that channel in HD....but then again, atleast I get Versus.

Saturday, May 17th, the wings are scheduled for 1:30pm on nbc. Preakness stakes takes place on nbc at 4:30pm, race beginning likely around 6pm. Curious to see what NBC will do if the game goes to OT. Hockey or Horse Racing??

Horse racing. Theres no doubt in my mind. They did it last year why wouldn't they do it again. The sad thing is that if the race itself does actually start at 6 they would put all the pre-race stuff on instead of hockey OT.

Whether NBC were to air the game or not, CBC or TSN will air it as well. I hope CBC carries the Wings series this time!!!

Dammit! That means listening to it on the radio at work instead of watching it at home :ranting:
