Having Lidstrom's talent and Stuarts physical style could very well be an unstoppabke match and the same goes for the second d pairing as well, talent and grit...Though i prefer the kron-wall over rafalski either way, but still, those pairings could work quite well. I was thinking the same thing about mixing up the defensive pairings. I think that these pairing will complement each other well and will give us two options - both with talent and physicality - for the Dallas offensive lines. I cannot wait for the series to start! Glad to hear Flip is back on the ice!

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 (edited) I think the Lids-Raf split has more to do with Dallas not having one clear line that is dominating (similarly to Detroit's top 2 lines). With two decent top lines, you're better off with these more balanced defensive pairings. Obviously, I would think the PP lines would remain unchanged. wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 Great to see Flips skating again. I have no problem with splitting up Lids and Raffy up at all, I think it's a great move to be honest
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 Great to see Flips skating again. I have no problem with splitting up Lids and Raffy up at all, I think it's a great move to be honest Considering Raffy and Lids are like two extra forwards, this balancing act might work. Makes each line that much more potent. Or this could flop like splitting Dats and Z does. But honestly, I like the idea. Having a defenseman able to quarterback a play and set up or score some goals playing next to a guy who can demolish the competition...I smell victory. Not to mention it means Dallas will have to find an answer to two extremely potent forward lines AND defensive pairings, when I think they only have the capacity to handle one. Steve Levy Sucks 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 Dont change anything until we lose a game. Again, I trust Babcock in whatever he does, but I think splitting up Kronwall and Stuart is a mistake. I understand why he would do it if these line combinations stick for game one, get a hard hitting d-man on the top two pairings, but those two play so damn good together.
