We Won the Western Conference Tonight after the media said we had no chance at winning!! This team wasn't deep enough, wasn't physical enough, not good enough goal tending!! Well let me just tell ya!! WERE IN THE FINALS!!! KISS MY REDWING ASS!!! (Sorry Matt), but I have been waiting all year to tell these people to EAT IT!!! I know that we got four more wins to go, but DAMN!! we weren't suppose to advance past the forst round according to most people!!! WAY TO GO BOYS!!!!

Wish I could add some of Reilly's idiotic comments. I think they all got deleted by the moron filter.

I put that slappy on ignore after it was clear he was just trolling his own team. I'm sure I missed a few gems, heh.

a few more gems

All we needed was a solid 2nd line player, center or wing. I sure hope Franzen, Hudler, or Filpulla can somehow turn into a solid second line sniper over the next few weeks. Although it's very unlikey.

Pure Solid Gold. Zion's thread was the best for me I think.

A few gems re: Kronner. I have an interest in this topic as I was called out for saying he had "potential".

We won't get much for him at this point. But If he were to have a real good season say, this upcoming one, he could be trade bait at deadline to get what we need at that point.

kronwall's been a disappointment thus far to say the least. i'm guessing he'll have a career full of season ending injuries. that little nugget coupled with his piss-poor decision making and not much offensive upside that i saw at all, and he's not anything i expected or hoped he'd be. only ellis, maltby, and kopecky had worse =/- than kronwall this year.

He always has a hard time handling the puck, and his passes are erratic.

I don't see this great deal of potential people usually talk about with respect to Kronwall. Even Lilja's sorry giveaway-prone ass managed to outplay him defensively in the regular season, and he tends to become completely invisible offensively as well. Were it not for the blocked shots, constant injuries, and occasional big hits, I'd forget he was even out there. The contract is looking like a mistake so far, and a trade would be nice if this trend continues next year. Nobody will want him, though. I'd love to be wrong, of course, but maybe after all these excellent scouting and contract decisions from the front office, the Wings were due for a mistake.

There were so many to choose from.

I will fully admit that I've had my panicky moments. But I'm proud to say that I never gave up outright on our team. Were there moments I had big doubts? Sure, especially in the first round. But this team has proven thus far that they can rise above the doubters and be successful, no matter what some idiot (myself included :P) on a message board says.

It feels so fulfilling now to have stayed positive the whole season, especially the 1-10 streak. The low parts of the season seem such a distant memory now.

Link.

this is an interesting thread to read through. no comments that i would really call people out for, but the consensus seemed to be that if we had to get rid of franzen, hudler, flipper, or cleary that franzen would be the one to go. obviously no one could have seen his current performance coming, but it's interesting to see people's thoughts on franzen back in january.

Forums like LGW are for people to express their opinions and emotions in any manor. That's why they come here. Can you imagine how boring this place would be if everyone wrote "The Wings are the best. We're awesome!" or after losing "Oh well, you can't win 'em all. I love you Wings!".

Let people vent. Just like it's fun to watch people rejoice over insignificant victories.

To each their own.

Yep.

And yeah this forum would be boring as hell if people were living in Pleasantville all the time. Life ain't that way.

*all

Is it only me but it seems like no matter if Detroit wins or losses... there always are some stupid excuses.

IM SO EXCITED :D :D :D

Zion's thread after the Predators tied the game in last minute of Game 5 was pricelesss as well. Then after Franzen buried it less than 2 minutes into the first OT, he stated that it didn't change anything. Since then however, he has changed his tune.

I will say this: he did take his verbal beating like a man and realized the error of his way.

My wife has yet to let me off the hook. Franzenstein's goal kept me from panicking until after game 5 of the Dallas series, and even then (like after San Jose's defeat last year), I've never given up.

This is a PROUD day for me!!! Congrats to ALL of you who never stopped believing. This win is for YOU!!!!
