Do you really expect him to say "Yeah, I punched him in the head."

Would Kronwall ever say "yeah, I left my skates on that hit" or Draper saying "I completely crosschecked him in the face when he wasn't expecting it?"

if it was obvious that kronwall left his skates on a hit, or if drapes obviously crosschecked someone in the face, and then a reporter were to ask them a direct question concerning those actions, and either kronwall and/or draper were to blatantly lie about said actions after the fact, then i would also say that kronwall and/or draper "didn't man up" for their actions.

there's a difference between not telling the whole truth and outright lying. unfortunately for roberts, he chose to do the latter.

Too much outrage over a little love-tap. My eight year old hits me harder than that when we box. This is hockey, not basketball. If it wasn't safe for him to come back and take a little tap like that then the doctor would never have let him play so lets stop all the false carrying on over concussion like symptoms that may or may not have been a concussion or just a synus infection.

Was it dirty? Yes. Should Roberts have gotten a penalty? Yes. Did Franzen embellish some? Yes. Is it worth all the outrage? No

As a ref I would probably have put them both in the box.

The stick he took to the head was a lot more serious than that little tap but it has gotten almost no mention while this is all over the place.

Yeah. Well, if someone slashes Crosby's ankle, what would you think about that?

Hits to head have no place in the game. Roberts is dirty player, everyone knows that, but that hit to head from behind was too much.

Coach Babcock "Sorry McCarty and Downey, you both have to go. The only thing you really bring to this game is fans come hoping to see you punch someone in the face. We have recently been informed that hits to the head have no place in the game so we no longer need your services."

A hit to the head like Pronger hit Homer with has no place in the game. What Roberts did to Franzen is not the same thing. I don't condone what Roberts did but it wasn't anything but a two minute minor that didn't get called.

But would not that be something refreshing if somebody did it.

I'm sorry if this is going to sound harsh, but Therien needs to get over it. If I were him I'd be embarassed at what I am continually saying

I'm not saying it's completely wrong or he has no right to talk about the officiating when it is good/bad, but how about taking accountibility for YOURSELF and YOUR TEAM? Both teams in a game are going to get good/bad calls against them at various stages of a game, but putting all/a large part of the blame on the referees when your team gets shutout two games in a row is absolutely ridiculous. And I'm not talking 1-0 shoutouts after 2 overtimes when shots/chances are pretty dead even. Your team has been outshout and outclassed offensively and defensively so far these first two games.

Now the series is far from over and I don't want to sound arrogant like the Wings have already won it all, but Therien needs to take some personal accountibility to try to make his team better these next few games I think.
