Vincanni 1 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 He has played well, but I still think he should have had the first goal. I mean Ozzie was right there and let the guy bank it right in. Yeah I can agree with that, I more mean he's seemed to settle down since and has played well after that. Though that was a pretty slick move by Hossa, granted Ozzie could see that play 10 more times tonight and he'd stop it each time.
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Yep and hence I posted, "Draper is this teams worst forward" and "bad, bad shift Draper". Overreaction no doubt but I was annoyed by the whole sequence. I love the energy he brings to the team though. Granted that penalty was dumb
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 The Pens are being badly outplayed by the Wings in even strength. If this trend continues it will be very difficult for the Pens to win the series on powerplays alone. If the Wings can manage to stay out of the box this will be a lot easier for them. No they arent. Detroit is much better than Pittsburg 5 on 5 tonight. Anyone else notice how Osgoods already played the puck behind the net more in the first period than he had in the entire last game? You guys need to relax a bit. You can tell that the Wings are playing much better than the Pens, they just need to get their flow going. Half the period was special teams. All the Wings need to do is stay out of the box and theyve easily got this game.
cirov19 1 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Love how they're downplaying Nick possibly being the 1st European captain to win a cup Yeah what the hell is that? It's always about beating the odds... changing the face of the game, and shutting up all the non-believers. f*** them. Go Lidstrom.
Wingman 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Our D worries me...their confidence seemed to have dropped significantly since game 2. The play never generate the speed in the defensive zone it used to, as a result the offence gets stalled or pushed to the outside.
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 The pens cannot handle detroit 5 on 5, it's pretty clear. STAY OUT OF THE DAMN BOX!
Nero 20 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I'm not going to go back and look at the penalties, but a lot of them were really dumb penalties to take by Detroit. My point is that there were a lot of calls against Pittsburgh that weren't made. And then there were the dumb calls.. Franzen's penalty? Please.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Regarding our boys missing the net, I think I kind of understand why. They don't want to aim right into Fleury, so they're trying to hit a high corner. Unfortunately, they're getting too much loft on the puck. However, if they aim low on Fleury, he WILL give up rebounds. So yeah, this missed net s*** has to end. Agreed. Fleury, for stretches, has been very good at controlling rebounds but he's also given up some dandies as well. They MUST get the shots on net and force him to control the puck. Yeah, and I think I need to take into consideration it's easier to sit in front of a tv and see the play develop. In Ozzie's perspective he obviously didn't see that coming. That indeed was a slick move by Hossa.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Franzen's penalty? Please. After watching the reply I didn't have a problem with Franzen going. He have a nice forearm to Orpik's head right after the whistle that set him off.

Hes looked good out there on that top line.
