MississippiWing 14 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Watching the post game from NBC, it seems NBC was using the glowpuck technology. All their post game replays had the tail on it. Could this be why the puck was bouncing around so much.

Could this be why the puck was bouncing around so much. Stuart said in an intermission interview that the ice was bad.
I Red Wings I 40 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Are you s***ting me? Anyway, I thought it was bouncing around during play but not because of the glow tail.
MississippiWing 14 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 No no no. The technology it takes to make the puck a "glowpuck" involves removing some of the rubber of the puck. It's still the same weight but the makeup of it is different. This could be why the puck is bouncing different. I mean Stuart said the ice was crap but this could be another reason the puck was bouncing weird. I haven't seen them using the glowpuck tech all series until tonight. adtthosa 5 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Guaranteed Therrien will whine about obstruction again, even though I thought we got the short end of the stick on obstruction calls tonight. I didn't like the call on either of the penalties that led to the 5 on 3 either. All I have to say about that is Zetterberg was amazing. Serious man love tonight for Ozzie, Hudler and Lebda. Ozzie was fantastic when called upon, espescially at the end. My heart was in my throat during those last few chances. It was awesome seeing how excited Hudler was to score that goal. He has been so good in this run. Ledba played the best game I have ever seen from him, he was seriously amazing. Monday night can not come quick enough. Vincanni 1 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Pens chopped up the ice to slow down play to try and level out the playing field, it's actually a fairly common tactic in getting the most of home-ice advantage.
MississippiWing 14 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 sure didn't stop Zett or Helm they were flyin down the ice. Poor Cindy couldn't keep up.

Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Are you s***ting me? Anyway, I thought it was bouncing around during play but not because of the glow tail. Are you challenging my knockers? Obviously yours are half push up bra, but mine are natural heavy hangers. Any way, the Crosby thing is just too far gone. It is out of control and shows an out of control bad idea of how to market hockey. There are plenty of star players and a few who are actually better than Crosby! Ovechkin as a pure goal scorer, Zetterberg as a two way master of the game and a true leader just to name a few.

Nobody is challenging you. Just remember, if you ever change your avatar, you will be banned. As far as marketing goes, the league has no clue what it's doing, and is worse than any other sport at marketing. Other than Crosby, most regular joes couldn't name you one player in the entire league, except for Wayne Gretzky.

Could this be why the puck was bouncing around so much. Since those were all replays, it looked like it could have been something that was done in post. Give me a few minutes and I could do a rough copy tracking the puck. I just think the ice was bad.
DyingAlive 27 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 How come I didn't see the tail at all? I saw no glow whatsoever
AUWingsFan 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I think that it was one of those frame by frame deals they do in some replays for other sports (golf comes to mind most of all)..... I figured it was a test run to see what type of reaction they'd get for using it.....personally I didn't like it. Granted I was younger then and maybe thought it was just really cool, but I liked the glow puck (and I seem to remember that the line would change from blue to red the harder the puck was moving....but maybe I'm confusing it with Wayne Gretzky's 3D hockey for N64!)....... If the new technology is what they showed after the game I say don't use it, it's a bit too distracting... Go Wings!

Give me a few minutes and I could do a rough copy tracking the puck. I just think the ice was bad. Agreed... it was purely computer generated after the fact. Otherwise they would have shown it live during the game.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I don't mind it in the post game analysis/replay analysis. If they bring that s*** on during the live action, though, reds will hole.
