swiss_fan 3 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 I don t think so, with Helm, Abdelkader, and especially Leeno (or something llike this) knocking at the door. As much as i love Drake, i don t think we ll see him again.
CAWingsfan25 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 I LOVE Mac. I've always loved him, and I never fully believed he was done with hockey or the Wings. What was mostly wishful thinking on my part has turned into a wonderful reality. I am so proud of him, and I hope that he continues to keep fighting. He has a lot to be thankful for, and it shows that he (at least right now) is taking it very seriously. I hope he comes back next year. Seeing him in red and white skating around the Joe just seems right. I believe that there are some players who are a Red Wing no matter what team the play for, and I am glad to see Darren home. WAY TO GO MAC!!! On a side note: I missed his interview. DAMMIT!

wingedone 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 I am really so happy for Mac. I hope him all the best, hope he gets even better and plays again for us. More than fighting, I loved the way Mac would take care of his players. Guys running on Kozzy would find Mac in their face. I was watching the 2002 finals the other day and just as they are going to break, you see the camera on Lidstrom and Brind'Amour, and Rod is getting in Lids face (over nothing, just trying to get lids off his game, after the whistle). In comes a racing Mac, with a look on his face I will never forget, grabs Rod's sweater and spins him around to "talk" to him. You could just read the "what the f**k do you think your doing?" incredulous statement by Mac. Unfortunately then they cut away. But you got to love Mac. Guest mindfly Report post Posted June 6, 2008 I have huge respect for that guy.. but do you think he can become as good as he was in 97/98/02 etc? Or is he "finished" so to speak?
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 I have huge respect for that guy.. but do you think he can become as good as he was in 97/98/02 etc? Or is he "finished" so to speak? No, his glory years are far behind him. He will be a 3rd/4th line guy for the rest of his career. The good thing is that he is getting back on his feet and cleaning himself up. Thats what really matters. If he doesn't sign with Detroit, he will be playing for Grand Rapids or something. I see him playing for the Wings next season though. As Nightfall mentioned, I feel his glory years are behind him. He could be a solid role player and be perfect as a #13 guy though. I still love him.
Opie 308 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 I doubted D-mac would even make it to the big club, yet alone be an impact player scoring goals and making that 4th line so energetic!
Ti-girl 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Local 4 just said he came into the locker room and was drinking Gatorade and ONLY Gatorade...what a classy guy and a fantastic story in the 2008 playoffs. I hope he sticks around for at least one more year. I'm glad he can prove to the world that he's a healthy guy. Redbull and gatorade!
