Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Does anyone know what kind of champagne the Wings drink in the locker room or how much it is? I am throwing a party tomorrow and it would be kind of cool to have the same kind, because we will be watching the game again and everything. I didn't know where to ask this, so I just started a new thread... THANKS!!! :beerbuddy:
redwings1914 18 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Knowing Illitch its probably Dom Perignon......Good luck with that
Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 hahah yea that was my initial thought, but I was trying to get a good look at the labels, and it didn't seem like anything expensive. It would be really fun to have a party with the same stuff the Wings partied with.

THANKS!!! :beerbuddy: Not sure about the locker room, but the celebration when the plane landed in Detroit was Veuve Clicquot (~20 -> over 100/bottle, depending on the vintage). Casey 145 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 In the locker room, there's a pic of Hasek with a bottle. Look close, it's Dom Perignon. You're talking a hundred bucks a bottle minimum (1999-2000 vintages) to over two thousand (1955, 1928, 1929 and so on). Blends can be had for about thirty a bottle, but what Hasek is holding is the real stuff.

I suppose Dom must have found his bottle of Dom (hmmm) in the middle of all that Korbel (5-10/bottle)! http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/photo?slug=311...&prov=getty No way they are wasting all of that Dom (the sparkling stuff) spraying around the room. Even rich folk don't do that! Ok...maybe they do, but eff that!
Casey 145 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 You may be right, but that shield sure looks like Dom Perignon to me...
jdog19 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 You may be right, but that shield sure looks like Dom Perignon to me... Clever marketing at its' finest! I'll take the cheap stuff any day, although I'm a beer guy. I think I actually tried the fancy stuff once the day I graduated from college. It was in a dixie cup and kind of half warm. Glad we knew what we were doing back then! Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Hmmmm thats kind of interesting to think about if they actually used some Dom. I think I'll just get some Korbel than, and just pretend. Although I thought I saw some pictures of some Korbel in the room.

Wing Nut 19 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Nice little article in the link: "I have the day off tomorrow and I don't know what to do," Zetterberg said. "It feels great." <--- Heres an idea Hank sit home and admire your trophy its well earned!
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 I am pretty sure Korbel is the champagne they use not only at the cup locker room but other sports championships.

timothy1997 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Plus Korbel is an easy to open champagne. When you think of it, players arent scrambling around for corkscrews to open the bottles. If they did, it would be pretty funny.

mpitts 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 It was definitely the Korbel Extra Dry. I purchased a bottle on Wednesday afternoon (just in case) and was laughing at the fact that I had bought the same brand that they were celebrating with in the locker room. It's fairly obvious from the pictures (if you have a bottle in front of you).
