Wings Celebration Champagne...

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what kind of champagne the Wings drink in the locker room or how much it is? I am throwing a party tomorrow and it would be kind of cool to have the same kind, because we will be watching the game again and everything. I didn't know where to ask this, so I just started a new thread...

THANKS!!! :beerbuddy:

hahah yea that was my initial thought, but I was trying to get a good look at the labels, and it didn't seem like anything expensive. It would be really fun to have a party with the same stuff the Wings partied with.

Not sure about the locker room, but the celebration when the plane landed in Detroit was Veuve Clicquot (~20 -> over 100/bottle, depending on the vintage). Link is here:

In the locker room, there's a pic of Hasek with a bottle. Look close, it's Dom Perignon. You're talking a hundred bucks a bottle minimum (1999-2000 vintages) to over two thousand (1955, 1928, 1929 and so on). Blends can be had for about thirty a bottle, but what Hasek is holding is the real stuff.

I suppose Dom must have found his bottle of Dom (hmmm) in the middle of all that Korbel (5-10/bottle)!

No way they are wasting all of that Dom (the sparkling stuff) spraying around the room. Even rich folk don't do that!

Ok...maybe they do, but eff that! ;)

You may be right, but that shield sure looks like Dom Perignon to me...

Clever marketing at its' finest! I'll take the cheap stuff any day, although I'm a beer guy. I think I actually tried the fancy stuff once the day I graduated from college. It was in a dixie cup and kind of half warm. Glad we knew what we were doing back then!

I am pretty sure Korbel is the champagne they use not only at the cup locker room but other sports championships.

Yes, Korbel pays for that product placement... Great marketing.

It was definitely the Korbel Extra Dry. I purchased a bottle on Wednesday afternoon (just in case) and was laughing at the fact that I had bought the same brand that they were celebrating with in the locker room. It's fairly obvious from the pictures (if you have a bottle in front of you).
