Some good news for Red Wings

Haha, what? Rolston is probably the BEST fit for Detroit in free agency right now. Speedy still at his age, great skater, energetic, fairly gritty and plays strong defense.

As for knowing why Sammy is on the point. Yes. Its because we have no other options. Franzen has been a standout on the PP, yes, in his stretch run. We'll see if that holds up. Otherwise, our 2nd unit "standouts" don't exactly have strong competition.

Uh.... His "stretch run" was the entire month of March and every playoff game he played.

That is more than a "stretch run". If you are counting on Frazen's production to suddenly disappear, you are sadly mistaken my friend. I'm thinking 30 goals...

I never said to not improve the team. I'm just sick of people saying we arent tough enough,we were tough enough to win the cup this and we will be tough enough next year. There a diffrence between being tough and fighting. We dont have many guys that can fight but we have plenty who are tough.

I'm going to try to make this clear. We were tough enough LAST YEAR. But now Stuart is gone.

We had enough scoring LAST YEAR. This year we have to keep up.

Every other etam in the league is going to try and improve. If we stand pat we fall behind. So we cannot stand pat. We always have to be improving. I can't believe some of the things I've read on these boards. Some of you seem to be happy with limiting our opportunity. You always want the most firepower you can get, no matter how good you have it right now.

If Lecavalier were on the market, we wouldn't say "Well, we have Datsyuk and Zetterberg, who needs another scorer?"

But I agree that some people think a team full of goons wins Cups. Clearly we are tough enough, you don't have to be physical to win, you just have to be physical enough to out-physical the team you are playing that night, which the Wings do.

Don't forget the injury factor...

Rolston seems to have become the number one FA forward targeted, simply because Hossa is asking way more and Rolston isn't.

Are you talking about all teams or for the Wings? And if so what happened to Floor Mats?

according to Helene St. James, Rolston is too expensive for the Wings. He's getting offers of $4mil + now. Have called Sundin and, like I had mentioned the other day which I thought would be a Plan B for the Wings, has contacted Bertuzzi. I think Naslund is probably on the radar as well.

If he wants to win with a good team, he'll take a normal salary. If he's a money grubber and winning isn't important, good luck to him somewhere else. I'd rather have him on the Wings, but not for that price.

Sounds like Holland isn't even trying.

I still would like him to make a pitch. Even if it is laughable compaired to others. Who knows, if the kid really wants to live his dream he could sign still.

I am losing hope, and it is getting replaced with dread of Bertuzzi....

That St. James article doesn't make sense.

4 million + is too much for the Wings, yet they are trying for Sundin who is garnering offers of 10 million? Something doesn't add up.

10 million technically would be doable for one year, but 5 million next year is too much, because that would get in t he way of signing Zetter and Johan.

All teams in general. I hear he has gotten at least 10 offers in the 4-5 Million range.

Sundin has gotten at least 4.

Rolston would be a better fit for many teams, so it's normal for him to have more offers, I just hope he goes for the Wings.

She never mentions the 10mil and she even says he could easily go out of the price range for the Wings.
