Probert 5 For Fighting 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Except that the rumored terms are 5.6M per over 4 years. Again, the game has changed. Get used to contracts like that. Chicago's building something sweet. If they get Campbell to go with their already-stout group of defensemen, and if they can add another decent forward...they'll be in the playoffs. up2here 41 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) Whats that for Chicago now? 11 mil per season on goaltending? Edited July 1, 2008 by UP2HERE
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 I hope they overpaid. He's a decent goalie though. He'll make them a little better.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Aw, s***. Like we didn't have enough problems with Chicago already. Huet's solid. Chicago's instantly better with him between the pipes.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) WTF are they going to do with Khabi? Nobody will take that contract off his hands and if he does sign for $5.6, he and Khabi will be pulling in almost 22% of the teams' salary cap. Khabi getting cut? YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 we'll be seeing him a lot more Most obvious statement of the week... Its confirmed. Chicago is spending over 12M on goaltending. Huet signs for 5.6M per.

If they get Campbell to go with their already-stout group of defensemen, and if they can add another decent forward...they'll be in the playoffs. Chicago has nearly 52M tied up now in 18 players. Campbell is looking for a 70M deal over god knows how many years.
Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 wow, Washington is up the creek without a goalie... err something like that looks like Theodore might have found a home 2 bad for WSH if that is the case
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Khabibulin to Ottawa. E5 or something. Ottawa has absolutely no space to be absorbing a nearly 7M contract AND fill in their holes/re-sign RFAs. Chicago will have to buy him out or stick him in the minors.

Nobody will take that contract off his hands and if he does sign for $5.6, he and Khabi will be pulling in almost 22% of the teams' salary cap. Khabi getting cut? The funny thing is, even if hes bought out, his cap hit for the next two years would still be 2.25M. Thats a decent chunk of change spent on nothingness. Packer487 3 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 I don't get Washington. Why downgrade from Huet to Theodore over a million bucks a year? Especially since you're letting Kolzig go too. That's a great signing for Chicago.
40#1Fan 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 from Kuklas: And Capitals Insider notes… just heard from a source that Huet asked the Caps for three years, $15 million and the Caps offered it to him. But Huet told them he wanted test the market today and see what might be out there. Now it’s looking like he’ll sign a four year deal with Chicago for $5.6 million per.
