MabusIncarnate 5,359 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 Shanahan and Shanahan alone i'd take back. It's preached and preached "bring back feds! oh yay, he's almost 40 and can get us 10 goals! SIGN HIM SIGN HIM!". Fedorov is WAY past his prime, and I have zero interest in him ever being a Wing again. Avery is a complete c*** and has no place in a organization with class. Period. I hope him and his tortoise shell poet glasses wind up on Florida or the Isles. I have NO respect for a player like that and will not support him being a part of or representing our team. Bertuzzi just didn't fit with us, always kind of liked him as a player, but he seemed to be a non-factor with the Wings. Lapointe well, liked the guy when he was here, was way overpaid to go to Boston, and really doesn't have much to offer us anymore. It's like a less skilled Lang who simply can't skate and isn't just lazy. Shanahan i'll welcome back, i'd scratch the rest off the list if it were in my hands. kylee 727 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 no way Shanny is back. Like mentioned above him and Babs didnt see eye to eye, and his offense is declining sharply. Feds - im so sick of hearing about him coming back. just no Lapointe - i really dont see WHY we would want him back here unless to fill in what Drake did but not fight as much, and if it was a choice between Lapointe or Bertuzzi to take Drake's roster spot, im definitely going to try again with Bertuzzi. HenryMalredo 2 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 Does anybody remember the good old days when people would freak out if if they heard from someone's brother's girlfriend's cousin's gym teacher's dentist that Holland might be interested in some former Wing? Now almost everybody is begging for former Wings to be brought back for god knows what reason.

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 Bertuzzi for less than $1.5m to play third line with Hudler and Cleary=win. Bertuzzi for top 6 duty and/or for more than $1.5m=lose.
brutus 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 I would take either Fedorov or Bertuzzi back in a heartbeat...both have the ability to be game changers. Fedorov never looked good in any color but red and white in my opinion. For those who still hold a grudge against him leaving puhleaze....he had valid reasons. Maybe they did'nt pan out like he had hoped but he had to try...plus look at how he was in the end of the season with washington...he and ovechkin made a very dangerous tandem... Bertuzzi...well...with his injury issues it is always a risk...one I would be willing to take. brutus
Booster313 138 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 It's possible we could afford Bertuzzi and Fedorov...I'm just not sure what the fair market value is going to be on Feds. But with Bert if he really wants to come her he can afford to even for the limited salay. Remember the ducks will be paying him 1.3million for the next 2 years, so if we give him a 1.7million dollar contract for the next 2 years it's like 3million and what I would say is a fair "I wanna win" discount. I would say Fedorov is worth no more than 2-2.5million. So I am pretty sure we can afford them. The question is do you want to take a roster spot for them. I think Fed's would fill in nicely for Sammy on the second line and the PP Unit and Bert would be a ok replacement for Drake...with the potential to earn more ice time.
