Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 Signing Stuart to next to nothing?? Are you kidding me? He is a good physical D man but $3.75M per year? Too much. Kronwall is making $3M so when his contract is up he is gonna demand $4M+. It just sets a bad precedent thats all. Otherwise, I like bringing Hossa in for 1 year. Lose him after we repeat. Then get Zetterberg and Franzen re signed ASAP. Please, please, please tell me this is sarcasm?
Guest Crymson Report post Posted July 2, 2008 GS&T I remember you and I defending him during the deadline, taking heat, sure there were others defending him as well but we took some heat for defending him!!! Don't forget me. I was there too. I don't need to say how I feel about Holland; everyone who spends any amount of time here knows.

And Kronwall and Stuart will be FAs the same year, in 4 years the cap could be 70 mil it could be around the same, hell if the Canadian dollar drops well below the American Dollar the cap might shrink. So in four years you figure out what they are worth, in the past two days 3.75 for Brad Stuart is a great deal. Don't forget me. I was there too. I don't need to say how I feel about Holland; everyone who spends any amount of time here knows. No harm meant!!!!!!!

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 I read a comment on another board that had me rolling. It went something like this: "Well, it looks like Detroit might have a decent team again next year." Decent? Decent doesn't begin to describe it!

Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Oly fuggin sheet, man. I've got less than 3 months to save for a new flatscreen tv and surround sound! Holland is awesome but remember its a committee in the Red Wings office. And Illitch has created an environment and an organization that players want to be a part of. Players know a good organization when they see one. Hossa's decision is a testament to that. Nil sticking around is testament to that. Scotty Bowman sticking around is testament to that. ( I loved the shot of Yzerman and Bowman sitting up in the booth together watching game 6 of the Finals). Yee f***in hah, baby! Another great day to be a Red Wing fan. Go Wings! My thoughts exactly!!! except I'll need to pay for center ice and cable too.... :/ WOOHOO HOSSA!!!
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 I wouldnt say best off season ever, but it is certainly the best one under the new cap. I liked the 01 offseason better. Hull, Robitaille and Hasek, 3 HOFers in 1 offseason. Can't beat it.

ehorn3 2 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 This thread is a joke! Am I the only one that see how bad Stuart is? He's lazy and sucks, couldn't do much in the playoffs. Conklin (sp?) sucks and is lazy, couldn't even hold onto the starting job in Pitt. Hossa? He couldn't even lead his team to a Stanley Cup win. This offseason is mild at best. We didn't even get Bert back! Where the hell is all the grit this team needs to win the Cup? Flat out Holland is lazy and sucks. He needs to get off his @$$ and sign someone worth a crap

Vladiator 116 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 The signings for the 2001-2002 seasons were amazing. But with the cap in place, the Wings were able to make a lot of room due to the fact of their awesome drafting. It kind of all flows together. But to be honest in this cap world, singing a 4th D and a top FA is just unfathomable . The Wings just did that.

octopusonice 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Hossa deal sucks. Sundin is about 1000 times better. I mean why make such a big deal? Stuart figured to resign, he signs for 3-4 million and is not that great a d-man anyway (remember the deadline most people were like "he's on par with Lilja") and with all the young d-man in the system, it's kind of a throwaway signing...Conklin is a 1-year stopgap that isn't even needed because Howard should be in the league this year and Osgood is "The Man" quoting 90% of the people on this board, and Hossa compares to Yashin on the heart front...best offseason ever??? Give me a break. Wrong.
