Well put and to the point. Thanks for putting it on here. Meanwhile, seems the visiting bigmouths on PTI today questioned Hossa's motives for choosing Detroit. I didn't get a chance to see it, but spouse said it was not positive. Anybody catch it?

Bottom line? ESPN knows crap about hockey, but you'd think they'd still be able to figure out WHY he chose Detroit without showing their ignorance or sensationalizing it.

With everybody running out of Pittsburgh, why was this not a surprise? The person that wrote this article has absolutely no clue. Yes it was a surprise that Hossa chose the Wings, but other then that, this reporter's conclusions do not make any sense.

Is this not the same Detroit team that just beat Pittsburgh? With Hossa on it?

And hasn't said Pittsburgh team already lost a few of its impact players?

so within the next 8 years chicago isnt going to be a contender? and if Jeff Finger turned down that deal hes dumber than the leafs for offering it.

that was a really good read. just goes to show that sometimes money and greed doesn't make the world go around . i've always thaught of Marian Hossa as a really good player just goes to show he is a good guy as well who is driven by better motives than the $.

They held off on signing defenseman Brooks Orpik until Hossa was history -- though they eventually agreed on a deal that gives the bruising blueliner $22.5 million over six years.

That about says it all - that team was nothing but a flash in the pan. Back to square one. Do you see people, do you see how a visionary long oand short term focused management team builds teams to last. We are blessed.

Yeah, I stopped reading after that sentence. If you don't think Chicago is going to be a very serious contender in the coming years, you don't know jack s*** about hockey.

Adonde was acting like the Pens are still a Cup contender. He was kissing their behinds , saying they are still and up and coming team, blah blah blah.
