...for those of you that don't know, Fedorov scored #400 WITH Detroit...

...this is an ESPN article from when Fedorov first signed with Anaheim...

http://espn.go.com/nhl/news/2003/0719/1582918.html

Fedorov, 33, has 400 goals and 554 assists in his NHL career -- all with Detroit. He helped the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup in 1997, 1998 and 2002.

...even hockeydb.com has Fedorov scored 400 with Detroit...

Fedorov's 400th was the go-ahead goal in Chicago in the last game of the 2003 regular season, before Cujo choked it away. Bad memories of delicate Eric Daze wrist shots floating into the net in slow motion...

Daze was actually still playing hockey that season?

I can remember a couple of summer's ago, people had actually wanted the Wings to sign Daze... this after three back surgeries, and a total of 20 games over a period of three years. Not to mention that, even when the guy was healthy, he was probably the softest player of that size ever to play the game. Not that it's etched in stone or anything, but a player who's 6'6 should at least show some signs of toughness.

...and as for Fedorov, his 400th goal was in Chicago, and it came at a point when the Wings wouldn't a single game for the rest of the season. So there wasn't any celebrating to be done.

Well, it seemed like it at the time. They had already blown a 2-0 lead in that game despite controlling play, and he scored his 400th on a breakaway to put them up 3-2 in the 3rd. Everything was roses. Except then Joseph gave up another stinker to tie the game and then got beaten on an odd man rush in OT. #1 seed lost, and a date with Anaheim instead.

Maybe to Wings fans it wasnt due to the sour attitude about his departure and the fact that he had scored the majority of those 400 with one team. He also scored it as a Duck when they had yet to have any measurable success (or fanbase) for that matter.

It'll be all fanfare for Hossa. The excitement of scoring his 300 on a team that is marked by historical accomplishments and Hall of Fame players should be a big deal...

..Especially since he'll be the only 300 goal scorer on the entire Red Wings squad.

Holy s***... thats wierd. Remeber the 600 goal line?

As a side-note, Hossa could move into the Top 25 Active Goal scorers list, if he passes Martin Gelinas (309) and Bobby Holik (322). My guess is he'd need about 35 goals to do that, which is very doable.

If he doesn't put up 40+ it will be a disappointed season for Hossa (stat-wise).
