WingNut 25 5 Report post Posted August 22, 2008 Yeeeees. I've been waiting to see him in that uniform for a long, long time. He's always been one of my favorites outside of Detroit. God we better win it all again this season with this roster.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted August 22, 2008 Seconded, on both accounts. That isn't even the red jersey either. All that needs to happen now is for Kenny to brainwash Hossa as he has done with every other player on the Red Wings. He might not need to do that however, as Hossa will see soon see how dominant he is going to be in a winged wheel. He is going to eat. people. alive this season. We should start working on a Hossa drinking game or something.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted August 22, 2008 Tinted Visor = Sick I wasnt a huge fan of getting Hossa, but how can you not be excited to see the guy in the winged wheel.

Opie 308 Report post Posted August 22, 2008 He is going to eat. people. alive this season. We should start working on a Hossa drinking game or something. IF he plays on the second line with Flip he will make him look all world. IF he is on a line with Hank it will be easily one of the best lines in the world. IF he is on a line with Dats it will be easily one of the best lines in the world. IF he is on the 1st PP unit in Detroit it will be a devastating line with Lids, Ralf, Dats and Z plus Hossa, that is not fair!! IF he is on the 2nd PP that just gave Detroit 2 of what? the top 15, top 10? PP units in the league, he is that good oh yes he is! Either way the point still remains the same, he is going to eat. people. alive this season.

dallas27 7 Report post Posted August 22, 2008 He is going to eat. people. alive this season. We should start working on a Hossa drinking game or something. That he is, that he is. We've known it for quite some time and I think it's slowly starting to filter into other people. Even if he is only here for one year we all better feel damn, damn lucky that he took less money to play here thus enabling us to watch him EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. I feel Hank, Pav, Lids, Drapes, everyone is going to preach to the Hoss that it's the team before the money and hopefully that sets in. There is a Rod Allen drinking game, so I don't see why there can't be a Hossa one.
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 Sometimes I wonder how many sit-downs long tenured Red Wings have with upcoming free agents to try and convince them to stay. Obviously everyone except maybe Cujo who i've ever seen play in the Winged-wheel feels the organization is high-class both on and off the ice and that the organization treats you good as hell. I wonder if guys like Chelios, Osgood, or even Rafalski, guys who have been elsewhere sit down guys like Hossa and say "the money is never going to be the greatest here, but you will never find a better organization in professional sports as far as quality of on-ice product and taking care of you as you will here, and if you leave you'll regret it real soon". I like to think they do, then again, Hossa has been a few other places, hopefully its a revelation coming to the Red Wings and he is dying to sign around $6.5-7 mil a season come seasons end. But first, one more Stanley Cup please.
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 (edited) The fact that Marian signed for the Wings at a so called below mkt value fee, says to me that he fancies being a Redwing for more than just the 08-09 season. He knows that the chances of the Wings retaining the Cup are good but not dead certain. But they could well repeat in the next 2- 5 years, at 29 he is in his prime and the roster he is joining looks set for that period and will only get better. He likes his chances, and so do I, having Stanley back at the Joe in that time span. Kenny will do all he can in keeping the core of this team together for the foreseeable future. Will Marian take a lower multiyear deal this time next year to stay a Wing? To me its a no brainer and Hos may have the same thinking, judging by this summers decision he made.
