seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted August 30, 2008 Damn. I really wanted to see him in Phoenix. Here's hoping he sucks in Tampa
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted August 30, 2008 Dang, he was one of my favourites on the Sens my 2nd favourite team..... Hopefully this trade works out for them.....
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted August 30, 2008 Alexandre Picard might be on his way to being the next Mike Sillenger or J.J. Daigneault. This is already his third team in three seasons. Pretty well traveled this early in his career. Of course, catching Sillenger will be no easy feat.

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted August 30, 2008 Agreed - $5 mill way too much. You're right, that's why Tampa gave him $4 million.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted August 30, 2008 Everyone said that Tampa would be the teaming scoring 10 goals and giving up 9 next year, now it's looking like Ottawa will be scoring 4 and giving up 6, there defence and goaltending is attrocious. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted August 30, 2008 Tampa's defense is still very weak and lacks any kind of depth. That is, unless Melrose has plans of becoming a player/coach.

Word on the street is that they'll be dealing Jokinen & Ouellet for more defensive help.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Word on the street is that they'll be dealing Jokinen & Ouellet for more defensive help. They'll need to. You can't be a good team without good defense.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Yeah, but that's not really an apt comparison. Kronwall was signed when he wasn't as good as he is now and had been through a terrible injury run. His seemingly fragile body caused his value to drop. Hell, at the time when he was offered that contract, it was considered pretty risky. Yeah, which is why I didn't include Kronwall as a comparison. Signing Kronwall to a 3M contract at the time is akin to signing Meszaros to a 5M deal now. The 4M at what? 6 years? is a much more reasonable price for Meszaros, especially considering the term. And I guess I was right about Tampa Bay being the frontrunner...
Guest Dump-N-Thump Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Word on the street is that they'll be dealing Jokinen & Ouellet for more defensive help. Just because Jokinen and Ouellet arent big time physical forces there on the trading block for dhelp? sad.. Even my pro enforcer ass cant justify that.
