swiss_fan 3 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 everything is in the title. For me our "second" line, because i really believe Franzen capable of doing big things, especially besides Z.

RedWingedKitten 9 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) It'd be funny if the two best lines at the end of the year were our top two lines. ("funny" can be taken as "awesome") I'd say the Dats and Hossa line if they stay together. And I don't think we should call the second line a "second line", I think 1b would better. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 Since we're looking at scoring, if Hossa and Datsyuk are kept together, its easily them. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal on offense, with any dissent from that opinion likely being that Datsyuk is the better of the two, and Hossa blows Franzen out of the water. If they do stay together, they dominate. Datsyuk has done wonders for Hull, Shanny, and even Draper. Imagine what he can do with a guy that can keep up with him. Yc172 3 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 I will admit that i have not seen Hossa play in person very often. However, i have seen datsyuk and zetterberg play together for a couple of years now and i know that they understand each other and have great chemistry. Why wouldnt we put the d-z-homer line together and put hossa with the 1b line? not a suggestion, just a question.

I was in favor of putting Hossa on the second line, but lining him up with Datsyuk and Homer makes perfect sense. Between Hossa, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg (who all play similarly shifty, defensively responsible games), Hossa has the best raw goal-scoring abilities and Datsyuk has the best playmaking abilities. It's potentially one of the all-time great dynamic duos we're looking at. Edited September 14, 2008 by Dabura

Yes, but for me Hossa should be rather compared between these two lines to Hudler because what Franzen will bring to the table is closer to the play of Homer than Hossa's play. It s really possible that this season Franzen will bring more than Homer (+he is not getting younger) when Hudler next to Z could be very surprising
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 This thread assumes we will have set lines throughout the season, which we probably won't. The easy answer is to say that any line Hossa is on will be the best, whether it be with Pavel or Hank.
puckbags 863 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 There is a very good chance that we could have 4-5 30 goal scorers on the team next year ( hossa, z, franzen, dats and maybe even flip). There is also the chance that if Dats plays with Hossa all year he might only get 20 goals and have about 70-80 assists. Damn I cant wait for the season to start. Not if Datsyuk and Zetterberg are on the same line, which i'm fairly sure will happen once or twice in the season.
