servo 15 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 No one was picking the Wings last year or even in the first two rounds. No one has ever given Ozzie any credit. He'll retire with HOF credentials and numbers but isn't likley to get voted in *but thats another story * and how ever loaded this team may be, it is always good to be the underdog. Statts 4 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 OH NOES!!!!1111 PANIC!!!!!!!!111111111 No worries....its just another meaningless prediction that has absolutely nothing to do with what will transpire on the ice. For really though!!! Just another talking head giving their opinion, which is no more credible than mine or yours opinion. Until someone comes forth with a crystal ball, their opinion means shat to me.

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 "Clement, Clement, hands of cement" scored 148 goals and 356 points in 719 games for the Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, and Atlanta/Calgary Flames from 1971-72 to 1981-82. Not as solid as Osgood's career was when he first left Detroit, let alone now, but he was a good solid depth player and served as team captain in Washington for the partial season he was there. Also has two Cup rings with Philly. The point of what I was saying clearyly flew right over your head. The fact of the matter is that most analysts and media personnel haven't played at the NHL level, let alone have had the type of career Ozzie has. It's not about what Clement did, its about what Ozzie has accomplished.

pjgj13 30 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 I am not worried about any comments made by ANY announcer. If a team wins one year without any major problems and they lose nearly nothing in the off-season and they make probably the biggest splash in the summer, they will be fine and barring any major injuries, be right up there (hopefully winning it all and not hit a hot goalie). GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 The Sharks are always a trendy pick by the media "experts." The Sharks remind me of the Cubs (to a lesser extent) of "wait until next year and see how good we really are." Well, people have been waiting for the Sharks to prove they are a legitimate team for at least the past three seasons now. I'll take the Sharks seriously when they prove something other than being talented and deep on paper. Until then, I still consider them an overrated, underachieving team. Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted October 3, 2008 Anyone read Bill Clement's comments in the free press today? Said "he didn't think Ozzie could handle the pressure of being the number one goalie". Screw this idiot. At least cherry knows what he's talking about. I love how people take this so personally. Jesus Christ people, get over yourselves. Clement doesn't think Ozzie can handle it. So what. It's his ******* opinion. Is the guy not allowed to have an opinion unless it suits us and agrees with us? If Clement flat out said/says we won't repeat, he's got statistical data to back up his opinion. Repeating is damned difficult, no matter what lineup steps onto the ice tomorrow. Does Clement's opinion change my mind that I think we're the favorites and on paper think we should repeat? No. But i'm not such a ****** bag as to label everyone else an idiot and get angry b/c Clement sees it differently. You people take this like its a personal attack on your character or something. Like I said, get the heck over yourself already. Who cares what Clement or anybody else has to say. It's just an opinion. Grow some thicker skin already. I agree... but honestly, it is a lot of fun to ***** and moan when someone denigrates the team you are a fan of (especially if you have others of like-minds to do so with). I appreciate being able to pigeon-hole media "villains" whenever they disagree with me. Let's face it, a lot of us are not able to play hockey any more... at least at a real competitive level, so it's nice to have an outlet for some healthy hostility. Though I am saving most of mine for Blackhawk fans this year! Edited October 3, 2008 by egroen
