HockeytownRules19 902 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 4 of the 5 picked the Wings to the go back to back, only newbie John Tortorella picked SJ to win. Also, the consensus had Lidstrom winning the Norris. For once, Pierre McGuire actually loved our team.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 I was watching this too, I'm not sure if it was this or That's Hockey, but in an interview, Holmstrom predicted 50-60 goals for Mule!
NEpats1028 1 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 at least the canadians know what they're talking about...idiots at ESPN have everyone from the rangers to the stars to win the cup. and 2/6 voted for lids as norris winner...TSN is the REAL sports network.. Just because he won a cup there in 04 doesn't give him the right to be an analyst in my mind. However most of those guys know their stuff..i'll give TSN that.! GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 sorry, i meant the sharks. my apologies.. lets be honest, nabakov will never win the cup...even with Thornton No problem. I pretty much agree with the Sharks - it's the same story every season. They get a lot of hype from the media and fail to deliver. The talent is there, but the Sharks need to prove they can win more than a playoff round before anyone will take them as a serious contender.

The Mule 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 TSN is a great network, and the first one I turn to for sports. As for the Cup, it will be one of the Red Wings, Stars, Ducks, Sharks, Flames, Flyers, Canadiens, Rangers, or Penguins. I guarantee it.

I've put up with TSN for a very long time, and let me say that it is ass. Thos who don't see it often may think it's good, but unless you are a fan of a Canadian team, then f*** TSN. I have never seen a more non biased hockey game coverage than on FSN Detroit. Honestly. TSN may be predicting the Wings to win now, but they did the same ******* thing last year this time as well. They sure did change their tune in February when they lost a few games. They go with the now team, always have. But once the playoffs hit last year they were San Jose all the way, although they were pro Wings at the start of the year. Trust me, if the Wings hit a slump this season, you will all be bashing the hell out of TSN and Pierre McGuire. Bank on it.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted October 9, 2008 (edited) TSN is only for canadians, and they were ridiculously bad during the World juniors, like when we beat them they hardly interviewed the swedish players, and their coach, now headcoach in ottawa was like.. yeah a fluke, we were better all game, never seen a team with so many lucky bounces... Nah, thumbs down for pro-canada people they've got some interesting people working there but they are just too much pro-canada James Duthie and Darren Dregor are allright.. Nah, thumbs down for pro-canada people they've got some interesting people working there but they are just too much pro-canada James Duthie and Darren Dregor are allright.. It's a CANADIAN network! It sort of bugs me that they're all homers all the time, but what do you expect. I think they do a pretty good job of covering all the teams, they're all pretty knowledgeable. I prefer FSN Detroit because I am a Detroit sports fan, but TSN is what it is, a Canadian network. They have to cater to fans of Canadian teams. When I'm watching the World Juniors I only care about what the Canadian team is doing, unless the other teams have Wings prospects. I expect a lot of coverage on the Canadian team. And by the way, who did Canada beat in the gold medal game at the World Juniors? Oh yeah, Sverige. I'm not trying to be too critical, but just understand that TSN has Canadian advertisers and is watched by Canadians. They can't cater to Americans, or Swedes, or Russians. They have to please their core audience.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 TSN is only "homers" and obsessed with hockey because they want to make up for the lack of attention ESPN pays to hockey.
