You think so? It looked to me like the puck wouldn't settle for him until Luongo was over and in position to make the save. Yeah, the pass to Homer wasn't a great option, but he didn't have anything to shoot at.

I must not have seen the puck rolling, I glanced up and saw Hossa with the puck all alone in front and passed it off.

Absolute dominant period by the Wings. Intensity lifted, we won the battles to the puck, we played physical and the passing was actually starting to connect.

Kronwall was excellent on that last PP, held the puck in twice when it could’ve easily gone out. Hudler actually received a little ice-time and looked sharp. Seems the second line is Hudler-Franzen-Filppula with Franzen taking faceoffs because Flip’s been disastrous in that area tonight. They created some quality scoring chances in that period and I hope Babs goes back to that same combination for the third.

Fourth line was terrific, mainly thanks to Helm. I’m telling you, they won’t be able to send him down to Grand Rapids after tonight, he is just too good. How good was that shift in the latter stages of the period? He and Kopecky were hustling like crazy! Kopecky gets a lot of criticm on this board and a lot of it is unwarranted. He plays big, he can make an excellent pass and he ALWAYS plays with energy. Adding Helm to his line spells trouble for the opposition. I’d love to see a Helm-Abdelkader-Kopecky line in the near future.

The less said about Samuelsson the better. Stuart has been invisible. Datsyuk and Hossa aren’t quite clicking but Datsyuk has been outstanding tonight with 2 assists including a lovely breakaway pass to set up Clearly.

Much better signs that period.

Ugh, Red Sox are already down 5-0 in the bottom of the 3rd. Rays' pitching is just fantastic.

Man, I really dont want the Rays to go to the World Series. I want to see Jason Bay win a World Series. But if the Rays have to make it, let's go Phillies! Matt Stairs gettin his ring babay

Hes had a great game today. He and Helm have a bit of chemistry out there.

(Yes, I know, we're off topic...but it's in between periods!)

You gotta admit that the Rays have been a hell of a story. But a Rays/Phillies WS? Ratings NIGHTMARE for the networks. In '04, I had confidence in the Sox coming back against the Yanks (wish I could grab the message board posts elsewhere that would confirm this, but the board no longer exists :P). Last year, I knew they could come back from 3-1. But this year...I just ain't feelin' it. Bats have gone cold and we can't blame the pitching entirely. Ain't gonna win many games if you can't string together a few runs, no matter how many you give up.

Whoa...I think the wine is kicking in. Neat. :D
