Center Ice Commercial, Makes Me Sick

My "alternate ending" to the commercial would be him walking out of his house.

Wideshot of his house inbetween two Wings fan houses.

M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN TWIST: HE'S LIVING IN MICHIGAN.

Cut to the two neighboors mowing their lawns or taking out the trash (Wearing Cup Championship shirts or Wings jerseys), making fun of him and the Pens.

pure genius to be honest

I don't really have a problem with it. Crosby is the face of the NHL advertising scheme so obviously they would pick his team for the commercial. On top of that, obviously the guys only going to cheer at hits or plays that are in favor of his team.

With all that said, I hate the commercial and every commercial ever to air on Center Ice is outrageously overplayed to the point of disgust.

notice how the only jerseys he owns are crosbys

he is a true pens fan

haha my point exactly, showing the "real" Pens fan: a dumbass from California, cheering loudly to himself and with Crosby everything, wearing one, framed the exact same one, prolly has another Crosby home sweater as a toilet seat cover, a few more as a shower curtain. NHL prolly just gives away Crosby sweaters out there.

As much as I understand your passion for the Wings and not marketing our rivals, it would be stupid for the NHL not to market Crosby. When he came into the league, not only did he give us a superstar for us to enjoy, but a new fresh face for the league to market. Whether you like it or not, sports is a business. The NHL is not going to admit that they would rather have a positive bottom line then make fans happy that their team is in a commercial. Crosby is marketed for the younger audience that will bring the ratings and merchandise ratings up. Any advertising is good for a league that is struggling to make a name for themselves, and that name is best being Crosby.

Has anyone been watching the Devils Sabres game? There is a guy behind the Sabres bench with a ******* Penguins jersey on! I understand why the NHL would market him but this has to either be obvious product placement that isn't needed and completely retarded or all the NHL's new fans are Crosby fans. (Yes, he had number 87 on the back)

Yeah I am pretty annoyed as well with that commercial. The guy on there is a total tool. Its to bad they didn't show him while watching the Wings skating around with the Cup there at Mellon Arena. That would have ben a lot better.

The NHL Network does have something against the Wings. Their promos, when they do show the Wings, show something bad happening to them.

I agree that the commercial in question would be ok if the Pens were playing against a team that they had actually beaten in the playoffs.

As far as the idiot in the commercial goes, I know I have acted stupid before when the wings have scored.

i agree with OP's general sentiment on the commercial...but at the same time, i don't mind not having the commercial about the wings, even if they did win the cup. it is a little insulting that the clips are all against us when we beat them in six games. it is also funny that the whole "cup changes everything" line is really untrue...because it doesn't really change anything for anyone not a wing or a wings fan (or someone who sells wings merch, i suppose). it seems like winning the cup would at least earn you a little attention in NHL promotional material.

but, as others have said, we have the cup, so screw 'em.
