haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 3 shots in the third. Detroit had 3 shots. Vancouver had 13. (just clarifying) Vancouver had a lot of great chances to tie the game in the third. It was a pretty wild finish.
Johnny Law 15 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Center Ice was down in my neck of the woods so I didn't get to see the game, it sounds like they had a much better performance all things considered. What is with the week off ? Just enough time for them to get a little rusty...
The Mule 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I don't get it and it is pissing me off. The love for Samuelsson and the hate for Hudler is leaving me completely confounded. Me too, but in Samuelsson's defense, he has put up a decent amount of points thus far.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Me too, but in Samuelsson's defense, he has put up a decent amount of points thus far. Samuelsson is doing well indeed. I don't get the hate for Samuelsson or the hate for Hudler. They aren't perfect, but they are also cheap and they make no costly mistakes.
Cern 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Is this the general consensus by everyone? Seems Canucks beat us on shots if I'm not mistaken -Great tight defense for the first half of the game, exactly what it should be. Fell apart in the third period there, thankfully it didn't derail to the point of losing the game.
David 2 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I haven't read the whole thread, so maybe this has been brought up already. I've watched most of all of the games this season and I have to admit, I'm pleasantly surprised by two people on the team. Samuelsson and Lilja look greatly improved from last season (the regular season particularly). I haven't noticed nearly as many turnovers from either of them, though there have been a few, not to the degree I was used to seeing last year. Lilja is probably our only legitimate shot-blocker, to boot. Or maybe I'm just not paying close enough attention. Another note, more specific to this game; Meech looked quite good. I was at his first game of the season (vs NYR) and he looked completely lost and made a ton of mistakes. He was brutal in that game. Last night's game, he was stronger in the defensive zone, and made a few plays to force the issue on offense.

Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 Detroit had 3 shots. Vancouver had 13. (just clarifying) Vancouver had a lot of great chances to tie the game in the third. It was a pretty wild finish. Like I said in another thread (or maybe this one) Detroit needs to play a whole 60 minutes. Once they can keep a lead and expand it then we will be sitting pretty.
