12/1 GDT: Red Wings 2, Ducks 1

This is the type of game that I believe Downey could strongly affect the outcome of. If he gets into a fight early and pumps up the team, we might have enough energy to play like how we're supposed to play, instead of the lackluster submissive style we've gotten used to. This is one game I wish Downey was up from the AHL for.

The Ducks may be the only litmus test team the Wings have. If Anaheim gets physical the Wings will too. Hopefully the officials can keep from injecting themselves into the outcome of a potentially action-packed, high-tempo game.

I'd love to see a Wings win but going into some practice days it might give the coach more ammo if they lose.

Kronwall with shoulder injury? ;)

You heard it here first.

If that happens, I will fly to sweden and hurt your shoulder <_<

*Disclaimer this not to be taken seriously (ish)*

I don't care if we win this thing 2-1 in a SO. Hell, I don't even care if we win. I just want to see a systematic, puck-possession game from the Wings tonight.

1. A low shot total against

2. Strong PK

3. Limited Giveaways

4. A well-policed crease

5. Quick, simple outlet passes to clear the zone.

Thats all I ask. Offense be damned. Lets just keep the GA to 2 or fewer.

Wouldn't you rather see a 7-6 penalty-fest?

WIll it be lilja vs Perry or Parros?

Lilja will get seriously hurt if he has a heavyweight tussle with Parros... Perry? Are you kidding, they have Brad May too... wow, no offense, but you're very uneducated about hockey; yet school people when you think they should know better young man.

I have a feeling somoenes gonna get hurt tonight.

Me too UK... I've been worried about this for a while. Between Pronger, Parros, and May- you know their gameplan will be to crush our stars.

Good thing we have.... oh wait, NOBODY to enforce :(

Nice thread, Hockeytown!

Alright so I had a dream last night that our boys played a PERFECT game. It's gotta mean something right?!

We got this!

GO WINGS!! GO OZZIE!! *not sure who's in net?*

5-1 win. Rafalski, Cleary, Huds, Lids, Draper

If Downey doesn't get called up against the Ducks, why the f*** do we have him? He should've been in against Boston as well.

I've been kinda waiting/hoping to read that somewhere all day long, pretty disappointing

Wings - 6

Ducks - 0

Goals: Flipper, Flipper, Flipper, Flipper, Flipper, and Kronner.

Cheers!

100% agree Esteef. No reason to carry him if we're not going to even play him against the toughest team in the league...

Have no fear though, look at our powerhouse 4th line that will match up against Parros:

I'm saying Anaheim with a 3-1 win over our tentative Wings with the Ducks physical presence being the deciding factor.

It's basically hanging Lilja out to dry. I mean MAC's hurt, the Ducks are a rough and tumble team every time we play them, they're stacked with players that fight, we've had fights/cheapshots from them in the past, it's the regular season, we still lead the division, and our best fighter is in the AHL eatin' chips watching the game on tv! What else do they need to call him up? Death threats?!

Good luck Lilly!

Damn, Esteef is right on... I like this guy.

I agree, they're putting Lilja as the only guy that even knows how to make fists with his hands in a dangerous position. They're obviously going to be running our guys tonight... Lilja must do something, but it's going to be hard to watch him getting pummeled against the potential of true heavyweights. Lilja cannot fight a Parros type player without hugging or getting hurt.
