Well, by the end of the second period, I thought we were down and out, but we managed to storm back and find a way to win. Also, it was good to see the team fall back on our star players in Hank and Hossa, as opposed to getting by on primarily secondary scoring the last couple of games.

As for Hossa's marker, talk about a beautiful shot. He always seems to confident when he comes storming down the wing with the puck, and more often than he finds a way to puck it in the back of the net. I'm going to miss this guy if he isn't around come next season.

Either way, that was a good comeback win for our team, but it's a bit disappointing we were so brutally outplayed for large portions of the game. Nonetheless, a win is a win, so color me happy.

Keep it going, boys.

Im sick of hearing about the damn Toews goal, he deked cleary, FRANZENS WAS WAY BETTER, so shut up tsn and nhlnet!

Toews goal was a thing of beauty. Everyone talked up Franzens goal too, just because it wasnt a Red Wing doesnt mean we should write it off and forget it.

I'm happy we found a way to win, and as far as points go we're 2-0 against the Hawks, but head-to-head we've really only skated to a pair of ties.

I really wasn't pleased with this game. The majority of it the Wings struggled all over the place, offensively and defensively. The defenders (and I will pick on Lebda specifically because I always caught him doing this) seemed to be content just to skate near the attackers rather than hit them when the opportunity came, or tie them up or seal them to the boards or anything. Watching the Hawks run around in circles in our zone cycling the puck was no fun. And I was livid watching Lilja coast back after getting beat on the pinch; while Dano was getting turned inside out and Conklin deked into oblivion, Andreas was strolling over the blue line. :nonono:

Really, the Wings were off the ball for most of the game, then were totally great for 10 minutes to hang on for the win. Their record is great, but their play is still uninspiring. I'll take an ugly win, a comeback bid when I can get them, but to be honest I don't just want to see them win, I want to see them win like the Red Wings.

been saying this for weeks. its almost like they go out of their way to avoid the check, it drives me nuts. we'd create many more solid chances and turnovers if they werent afraid to use the body. i love pasha more and more each game as he is increasingly willing to

smash into someone.

Cleary, Pav, and Hossa were terrific as a line last night. I don't know what that means for Homer at even strength without one of the Euro Twins, but I wouldn't break up something that is working. Cleary has been really good the past few games.

Agreed. Pretty apparant that the eye injury was hurting Dano alot more then we all thought. Because since coming back, 6 points in 5 games, +2, and still playing great defence. Where are the people calling Cleary a useless, overpaid puck hog now? :D

I've been wondering if it dates backto the playoffs last year... and they're sitllin the mental state that hitting a guy is going to cost 2 mins in the box.

...stupid therrien and the whining.

he deked CLEARY! Regardless im watching the hawks game right now and they are saying it might be better than his one last year, retards. On the Franzen goal i believe he took it thorugh the neutral zone, and deked both defenseman a forward and sniped it.

I think this quote is pretty revealing, and an indicator of the kind of sh** the Red Wings have to deal with every single game: The other team's best effort.

"We gave it as hard as we have probably all year in all three periods," Toews said. "This is a character builder and in a lot of ways we can learn from this game, [but] it's a tough loss. We have to be really frustrated about this and take it out on the next guys."

Worth noting is the Hawks did just that and pummeled the Yotes 7-1 last night.

Here are a few pics of Hudler's SE16 he gave me:

That is really freaking cool, looks like you have a cool little collection there.

For some reason I thought Hudler would have more of a toe curve.

I'm not sure what to think about this team, very bizarre right now. It will be interesting to see how they play against the Sharks on the 18th.
