mjlegend 155 Report post Posted December 15, 2008 It could also be a nice recruiting tool for young Swedish players who want to play in the NHL and want to play in a free-flowing system...
shoe 165 Report post Posted December 15, 2008 I bet our Sweedish born players would really enjoy that, they would get to show their team mates around they could have their families in the stands. It would be good for them I think, might give them a jolt of energy. I can just see Grandma Kronwall now inviting Kris Draper into her home and saying sit sit eat eat. Every red wing could come home with their own brand new pair of vooden shoes too! Picture if you will Datsyuk with more room on that larger Euro ice.

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN! Detroit is the perfect choice for opening the season over here since the team is like the Swedish National Team 2. This could be one of my only chances to see an NHL game live, not to mention seeing players like Datsyuk and Hank in their prime. Watching the games on TV or streaming is nice and all.. but I don't think most of you realize what we Europeans/Swedes go through to see the games.. Like tonight, I'll be staying up for the San Jose game that begins 4.30 AM Swedish time.. allow us to have this one thing, who cares if the team has to sit a few extra hours in a plane.. I'm sure it's a great experience for them as well. Btw, Shoe , I'm pretty sure the Euro games this season were played on NHL-sized rinks. I think that was one of the NHL's demands, that everything would be as they are over there. Edited January 17, 2009 by dat's sick
